Piotr Grabowski's Samples

Is anyone who has completed the upgrade to v5 able to advise which (or if all) of Piotr Grabowski's sample sets function in v5? Piotr's website doesn't mention v5 at all, nor does it say if any of the sample sets are encrypted.

Thanks,
Kevin

Piotr's sample sets aren't copy-protected (encrypted), so no v5 updates are needed for them.

Except for the Skrzatusz Sample Set, which is encrypted, both ODF and Audio, but which did NOT require a Dongle Update in HW4.

On his Website today, I do not yet see any mention of an upgrade for HW-V being available.

Hello OrganoPleno,

My apologies for any confusion. I don't have his sample sets here currently, but when we sent the necessary things to him for re-protecting sets he mentioned "As you thought, I don't have any sample sets protected so far as all of them are free, so this information wasn't necessary for me". Perhaps he's forgotten about that one, if it is indeed encrypted.

No, Skrzatusz ist NOT encrypted. Neither the ODF nor the sound files.
Probably it was encrypted in the very beginning, but I downloaded it three years ago, and now again, and they are completely unencrypted.
I have installed it already on HW V and it works great.
So far I finished installation of 9 out of 13 of his sample sets, and all of them had no issues at all in HW V.

Regards, Lars

I downloaded it in November of 2014. It was encrypted at that time. Glad to hear that's no longer the case!

Just installed the last one.
All 13 sample sets work great and without any issue on Hauptwerk V.

And it is the first time I played around with the new Reverb system in Hauptwerk V:
The Walcker organ in Melker Chamber Music Hall is "bone dry", and you can transfer it to a big church with one click :D
The result is really great!

(How does one access the touted new reverb system in HW5? Thanks.) I found the documentation, never mind, sorry.

I moved St. Mary's to a more reverberant venue. The documentation was clear, and the move took less than a minute, and, as you observe, wow!

BTW, my extant Grabowski soundsets were swallowed by HW5 without any problem or incident.

Whilst it is true for most of the Piotr Grabowski samplesets, the Friesache version begins to load then fails with the comment that a wav file is not compatible. this then drops out. I have emailed Piotr but had no reply.

does anyone else have any further comment re this or is it just me ? :)

I had this one with V4, under V5 it loads ok, though I only load the minimum so it fits on this pc.

Thanks, Dave. I guess I could try uninstalling it and downloading it again from new. problem is this would most likely lose all my settings which took me a while to setup. still if this is the only issue I have, I can't really complain. it will be something to do over the Christmas hols :)

Hello Dave,

Using 'File | Uninstall ...' in Hauptwerk to un-install a sample set won't lose your settings/combinations/voicing unless Hauptwerk asks you whether you want to delete/clear them and you say 'yes'.

Thanks for the response :) I have been very reluctant to try this since I thought I'd lose everything. I'll give it a go and hopefully this will solve my problem
