Trial licences for Salisbury and other MDA sets

PostThu Jan 16, 2020 6:38 pm

One of the long-requested features delivered in HW5 is time-limited trial licences. I was pleased to read in the manual and in this forum http://forum.hauptwerk.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=17833 that

7-day trial activation codes are available for Milan Digital Audio’s sample sets...

I would like to try Salisbury before the current pricing offer expires. How do I get the 7 day trial licence?

Hello Adrian,

I'm not sure what the arrangements are currently for obtaining trial activation codes for Milan Digital Audio's sample sets, but I'll check.
Best regards, Martin.

Hello Adrian,

I've enquired, and the process to use is to email us ( upgrades [at] hauptwerk.com is probably the best one to use) letting us know for which Milan Digital Audio sample set(s) you'd like trial activation codes, and we'll then send them to you.

Hence please send us an email there accordingly -- many thanks.
Best regards, Martin.

Well, I emailed as you suggested a week ago.

No response whatsoever.

Hello Adrian,

We've replied to your email asking about your iLok user ID, so please just reply back to that email so we can get your trial licenses over to your iLok account.

Thank you.

Thanks to both of you for sorting this.

I believe this may have exposed a small bug in iLok licenser. (I am running the latest Mac version 5.2.0 GM). This set comprised 3 demo licenses: I highlighted all three, activated them, completed the dialog to transfer them to my iLok cloud, watched the spinning thing, then was told that 3 three licenses had been activated successfully. Good! Just what was expected... Except they hadn't. Hauptwerk wouldn't load them and on checking back in the iLok licenser they were still showing as available and unactivated All showing "0/1 activations used". I logged out of iLok licenser and in again, repeated the process and had exactly the same frustrating result. Only by activating them one by one could I get activation to work. Might be worth investigating.

Hello Adrian,

Yes -- you may also need to activate licences once you've redeemed the activation codes, even if you're using iLok Cloud. The iLok Cloud user guide (available by going to https://www.ilok.com/ and clicking on the 'Read more about the features of the iLok Cloud' link) explains it; it depends on whether you have iLok Cloud set to work in 'automatic mode' or 'managed mode' in iLok License Manager.
Best regards, Martin.
