Judging by the number of stops and the fact that it has 6 divisions, could it be the A-S in the auditorium at Indiana University, Bloomington?

Do you mean the original reverb? I hope so. With the HW5 reverbs you can easily add acoustics to the set itself. The drier the set is, the better! I am very excited about the demo.

When I say “present the set in a manner where I think it shines best” I mean I will record (and have done so far) demos with a little reverb added. The set is actually a bit drier than what you hear, so never fear.

Actually, Ian already guessed correctly earlier - Æolian-Skinner at Pasadena Presbyterian Church.

That's great news for anyone interested in this instrument!

^^^^ THIS!!! THANK YOU!!!! I wish all set producers did this! I was talking to someone today (very accomplished, highly regarded organist who played and experienced Hauptwerk today for the very first time - he took our instrument at GUMC for a spin) and he is about to start building his Hauptwerk instrument and this very subject came up. I think this is a very wise move and I'm glad developers are doing this. I, for one, will be first in line to try this thing out!

You’re welcome, Drew.

It’s something we will probably do more of in the future - especially as our quality continues to get better and as we put out large instruments... there’s really no other way for people to get a good read on whether they like a large instrument unless they can use it unfettered for awhile. Plus, it’s lots of work to have to create, support and debug a demo as well as the main instrument - we’d rather spend the time perfecting existing instruments or creating new ones.

A couple folks have asked privately "when is this coming out?"

Long ago, I realized the wisdom of not giving firm release dates - especially on this kind of product. We are still testing, and we're also waiting on activation codes. In the past, I think we've released things without testing them enough, and then there are bugs to fix. Especially since this organ is so large and complex, we want to make sure it's as good as we can make it before we release it into the wild....

"We will sell no wine before its time..."

So, the best I can tell you is "sooner rather than later"

And, for the record, I'm very proud of what we've done with this set - it's the best noise reduction and production we have ever done, and it's a fabulous instrument besides in its own right. When Charlie and I combined our businesses, it was with a view towards bringing our quality up to the standards of the very best, and also becoming the "place to go" for HW samplesets of American organs. I think we are well on our way, and I think lovers of American organs will be pleased at not only this organ, but also the ones in the queue for the foreseeable future....

Best,
