NOW RELEASED - Kuhn-organ Saarbruecken Sankt Arnual

PostThu Nov 12, 2020 3:22 am

Today I have released my new sampleset of the Kuhn-organ in Sankt Arnual, Saarbruecken (Germany). Please look at the bottom.

The organ was built 1995 in collaboration with the conservatory of Saarbruecken and is used by it for teaching and exams.
The style of the organ is a synthesis of Cliquot and Cavaillé-Coll and so predestined for french organ music.

You can find more information about the instrument here (please click on the photo): https://forestpipes.de/?page_id=336

These are the technical details:

All samples were recorded with four channels at 24 bit / 48 kHz, each tone with long, medium and short attack times. Then a special noise reduction algorithm was used to preserve the harmonics of the samples. These contain up to 6 loops.
All tremulant stops were also sampled.

In order to play the sample set, your computer needs the following minimum RAM requirements:

16 bit stereo compressed 9 GB

16 bit surround compressed 16 GB

24 bit stereo compressed 17 GB

24 bit surround compressed 31 GB

The sample set is encrypted. You need the iLok (TM) dongle to play the set. Also a HW4-version will be available upon request.

In contrebombarde you find several recordings, when you enter "Sankt Arnual" in the search box.

As seen below, here are the three Youtube-links again:

Aarnoud de Groen has played the sampleset live:

Tour of stops by Paul Fey:

A nice improvisation about "Vom Himmel hoch" by Bastian Fuchs:

Very nice, Thomas! I hope that the front samples sound very direct.

If someone wants to get an idea of the disposition, take a look at my work in the last minutes ;-)

Looks also nice, but I have already integrated simple screens for landscape and portrait screens.

That was clear to me, the panel is my private pleasure. I have also created panels of organs for which no sample sets are available. I allow myself this fun.

I have built in sliders for front and rear, so you can adjust your listening position to your taste.

NOW RELEASED - Kuhn-organ Saarbruecken Sankt Arnual

PostSun Dec 06, 2020 4:44 am

I am proud to release my new sampleset of the french-style Kuhn-organ in Saarbruecken Sankt Arnual today. Here you can order it:

https://forestpipes.de/?page_id=459

In contrast to my other samplesets the price is perpetual.

If you want to test the sampleset in advance, you can order a trial-license on the same site. Please accept that I can't offer free trialcodes any longer.

As pronounced in the first post, I also offer a HW 4-version upon request, but I don't offer a trialversion for it, with about 10 stops it would not be very meaningful.

Thanks to Aarnoud de Groen to post the link to his wonderful online-concert.
Best regards
Thomas

I had to set the ordering-site temporarily offline and must generate a new installation package. This was built with HW VI and hence it's not working with HW V. Sorry!

What a joke ! A nice and instructive news about samples compatibility ! it's the headlong rush ! You produce this sample for HW6.... but not all users have HW 5 (and don't want to upgrade).... hopefully there's one HW4 version ! Thanks !
Sorry to be just a little sarcastic  Of course the quality of your samples isn't questioned.
