Hello Hauptwerk friends,
due to my project philosophy I’m happy to present a lovely small German historical organ with a very special sound and interesting history. This instrument represents a romantic organ without reed stops, found typically in village churches at Mecklenburg and Vorpommern in the 19th century.
The warm basic sound, the strings, like Viola di Gamba and Geigenprincipal, as well as the special tonal qualities of the Flauto amabile, which are very much influenced by Cavaillé-Coll, are typical features of Mehmel organs. The Progressio Harmonica, a non-repetitive (!) mixture with a darker sound, even enables playing Bach with amazing clarity. The romantic Mehmel organ (slider chest type) was restored in 1994 by organ workshop Sauer, Frankfurt/Oder. Details and MP3 demo pieces can be found at http://www.organartmedia.com/Nehringen-Intro.html
The recordings - already done 2002 - were originally intended for a GigaStudio production (Hauptwerk unknown at this time) but with the same recording philosophy as with my later instruments (including recording of all pipes, actually very long samples up to 10 seconds) and I decided to publish it for Hauptwerk. Feedback welcome
Special introductory price offer (up to July 31, 2004):
105 Euro + shipping costs (later 125 Euro).
Shipping will be as soon as possible, at least end of July.
