More demos will be forthcoming and once the set is totally complete all demos will be redone in full 24 bit with multiple loops using our new Mac Pro (current demos are all 16 bit single loops done on a PC). Hello Iain,

That is the intention. I'll post the extension list soon enough!

My order is placed! Now, just wait as is usual in
these instances. Oh how long I waited for the first
VTPO, Brett's "Virginia". But, when you receive these
new sample sets, I just seem to want MORE!! So, I
am also waiting for a "rumored" 3/44 VTPO upgrade;
oh, and by the way, Neil Jensen's coming 3/35.
Wow, what a time to live.....

That's true. I may have to put off retirement for a year or two though :-)

I have 3 new sample sets coming (Metz, Duurswoude, and the Hruby Rohozek which I just happily rediscovered). Plus 8G of additional memory waiting to be installed. Life is good .... and my wallet is happy I don't have the affinity that many of you do for TOs :-)

And this time Brett is using sampled tremulant for the
Voix Humaine 8 (sampled with and without Trem) in the Recit
of the Metz.

I believe this will be a first for an HW sample set.

Very interesting, would be fun to compare with the same
pipe rank using the HW LFO trem generators just for an experiment.

Hi Jim,

The Voix Humaine won't have a set of tremulant LFO waves for it, that is the reason for sampling it with the trem on. Since the Voxes are quite difficult to emulate with wet samples it was decided to simply sample it with the real tremulant on (the same was done for the Hinsz at the Bovenkerk). The user has the option to either load both tremmed and untremmed ranks of the Voix Humaine, or only one or the other if memory is an issue. Then there is the option to load all releases or just the default releases for each V.H. (no, not VanHalen!)

The tremulant stop will switch between the two ranks, however it will re-trigger the attack of the sample if you are holding a note down while activating the tremulant. Being that most normal cases of playing wouldn't call for the trem being turned on mid-note I don't think this is an issue. Hauptwerk 3 does have a new tremulant feature allowing the sample developer to make it so that while a note is played and the tremulant turned on it won't apply the new tremmed note until the next attack. However the Metz ODF does not use this method.

Also since the sampled trem is recorded as is, the normal tremulant settings (pitch, amplitude, and harmonics) are not adjustable using the voicing screens due to there not being any LFO trem waves to apply them to.

All other Récit ranks use LFO trem waves applied to the main untremmed samples and may be voiced as usual.

I hope that all makes sense to you.

Hi all,

I'm a new Hauptwerk user!!

I have a question for Brett.
I've just ordered a copy of the Metz Cavaillé-Coll!!!

I run Hauptwerk 3 on my Apple MacBook Pro Core Duo(2) 2,4 Ghz with 4 Gb RAM.

I've seen in the resource monitor that, with Hauptwerk running, I've 3.30 Gb of RAM available for the samples.

Dear Brett,
Will I be able to load the full organ (16-bit, compression enabled) with the multiple loops and/or the multiple releases??!!

A lot of congratulation for all!!

Best regards!

Hello Louis,

Nice to hear form you.

Please have a look here:

http://www.milandigitalaudio.com/ndm-ca ... ements.htm

To fit it into 3.3GB I'm fairly sure you would need to disable multiple loops for at least most of the ranks. Using 16 bit compressed with single loops fits into 2.55 GB or so with all releases enabled. Thus, there is a little room for you to add multiple loops to some of the samples.

Also you may wish to disable the untremmed Voix Humaine from loading which will cut down memory if you only plan on using this stop with tremulant on. See my post above about how this rank works with regards to tremulant samples vs. non-tremulant samples.

I've just ordered a copy of the Metz Cavaillé-Coll!!!

At this time, I do not see an order from you, did you order it under a different name? Please let me know if you have any difficulty with the online shop and I'll see what I can do to help.

Dear Brett,

Thank you very much, I will try to enable multiple loops for the reed stops...
Eventually I will load in mono the 16' flue pedal stops...

The order to you come from Daniele Sacchi, Italy :)
Tell me if you see my order.

All the best!!

Hi Brett,

I am very interested in your new sample set, but am curious to find out if the 32' Bombarde "extention" (and the other 32') heard on some of your demos will be included in the initial sample set offering.

Many thanks,
Randall Mullin

Hello Randall,

Yes, they most certainly will, along with several more stops for the Positif and one extra for the Grand Orgue. The extended version will be 48 stops all together (10 more than the original). I'll be getting the stop list updated as soon as possible for the website. The Positif manual has been extended from 6 to 13 stops!

Memory requirements for the extended version are still TBD.
