First Harmonium Sample Sets

PostWed Nov 03, 2004 2:54 am

Dear Hauptwerk Users,

I have sampled one of my harmonium (built by the French Alexandre.Debain (1809-1877) the precursor of the reed organ).

It has effectively seven full-compass stops and one manual (the stops are split into two half-compass groups).

Left (29 keys) ,Right (32 keys)

Cor Anglais 8’ ,Flûte 8’
Bourdon 16’,Clarinette 16’
Clairon 4’ ,Fifre 4’
Basson 8’ ,Hautbois 8’
Aigu 2’ ,Musette 16’
Eolien 2’ ,Celeste 16’
Dolce 8’ ,Grave 32’

I have also simulated with these stops a 2 Manuals and Pedal Reed Organ
(We find sometimes these big instruments in church)

For more information consult:

http://users.skynet.be/PaulD/reedorgan/index.htm

You will find in the site, documentation and some demo MP3 files that I have recorded live using Hauptwerk 1.22

Dear Mr. Delferriere,

What a wonderful surprise. I've listened to your MP3 demos, they sound very convincing. This a very charming instrument indeed. Can't wait to try out the reeds with some Karg-Elert.

Best regards,

Dear Paul Delferriere,

I would be very pleased to hear your harmonium demo's and to learn more about the instrument. Unfortunately your web page doesn't load well on my computer. I cann't access the links on it. Perhaps you can give the direct links to the demo's and info pages?

Many thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Harmonium

Hello Louis,
Pauls websites would not download properly on my computer, so I went to Sun Java Downloads and installed their automatic update (their virtual java machine). Pauls website downloaded with no problem after that.

Thanks G’Day for your explanation.

I have adapted my Web site in replacing buttons which generate calling Java Applet.
I have also revised the 4 first MP3 files and add a new.
I hope that everybody could access now the site without difficulty.

Best regards,

Adding Harmonium Mannborg

PostSat Nov 13, 2004 4:33 am

Dear Hauptwerk users,

There is a few months I have sampled a little harmonium of the German firm Mannborg (Year construction between 1900 and 1905).
It has a compass of four octaves (49 keys).
The reeds are activated by suction and the sound is very charming.

I have decided to add this instrument as a bonus with the harmonium Debain,

You can see details and mp3 files on my Web Site:

http://users.skynet.be/PaulD/reedorgan/index.htm

Bests regards,

Dear Hauptwerkians,

Ever since I came across Ralph van Zetten's Karg Elert midi files, I have been waiting for an instrument that could do these brilliant interpretations justice. Well, the wait is over. The Debain has arrived! Listen to Karg-Elerts "Erste Sonate in H-Moll für Harmonium Opus 36:

If you are a harmonium/reed organ lover, empty your pockets for Euro and ask Paul to send you the samples by express mail. This is a truly wonderful and unique instrument.

P.S. I understand James Pressler is cooking up some Franck for the Debain. Can't wat to hear them.

Three concerts were eventually made, beginning here.

Franck's l'Organiste is presented on the last two, in order and streamable.
