Very nice. Near the end I noticed he slid the top manual back, it appears this is a quick coupler of sorts.

shove couplers (Dutch: schuif koppel) are very typical in abroque organs, and are not limited to the Netherlands only. You find them plenty in especially German organs of that period as well.

The only reason I can think of for the lines on the Openfluit and the Prestant are that they were not in the original specification. The lines were added during the restoration in the 70s. The Openfluit is a new stop and the Prestant is a transmission.

Hi Brett,

I received the Vol II yesterday and I was playing several hours.
It really is fantastic. I like how you have obtained the organ sounds as at a 3 dimensional space . I love the warm sound of this organ.
You are doing a wonderful job. Thank you.

Regards,

Thank you all of the positive comments! Glad you are enjoying the new release.

The shove coupler is on the virtual console as the stop named Koppeling Borstwerk on the far right column which couples the Borstwerk to the Bovenwerk. This stop replaced the Kalcant stop knob for the virtual organ. This was the best way to add this coupler since currently there is no console display.

For all those who like the "typical Dutch" organ music; I found some high quality videos of this organ on YouTube.

For comparison, two perfomances of Psalm 146 of Jan Zwart.
On the real organ:

On the virtual organ:

Enjoy (if you like it)!

I am sorry to perhaps sound a bit like sour grapes here, but this organ is really not a Jan Zwart organ, and yet, we keep being pointed to this genre music way too much; this is a Baroque organ with some romantic stuff from later kept in there, since the case is so large, but please, let's have more Baroque and period music demos.

Please.....no more of this candy-sweet, overly sentimental stuff by Zwart, Asma, Mulder and others. Please....I am beginning to suffer from an overdose....

I think I am speaking for other people as well. Let's hear some good Bach, Bohm, Krebs, Kellner, etc.

Thank you....

OK, a second list

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ipp0H8tv5Hw
(BWV 565, more funny than serious)

Ab Weegenaar on his own organ:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWzLvxj_ ... re=related
(Rinck)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrVWgWiDzMI
(Guilmant)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jL89DWekfv8
(Mendelssohn)

It is a baroque organ indeed, but with respect tot the music played on it, not limited to that period. Ab Weegenaar showed that in these videos on his own organ.

Adri, Adri, Adri,
It's perfectly reasonable to ask for more Baroque, but it isn't up to you or anyone else to ask people to stop posting particular pieces.
If you don't like to listen to them, don't. I don't see how you can have an overdose of something you don't like unless someone is forcing it on you. I don't imagine anyone else is pushing "play" and forcing you to listen.

My goal with this message was to point out the quality of this *great* sampleset!
The quality is music is a different point.
I was impressed after listening to both perfomances.
It's hard to determine which one is real or virtual, isn't it?

Anton
