For those who are intersted in hearing how the organ sounds, here is an improvisation mp3 of my partner playing the English Cathedral Organ accompanied by a virtual Trumpet: http://www.sa-virtualorgans.co.za/downloads/OrganAndTrumpetImprov.mp3. This demonstrates the organ with the custom mixtures of the Great being used - Mixture V [19,22,24,26.29] and the Sharp Mixture III [29, 33, 36] with the Principal and Flute chorus on the Great and the stops of the Cornet V on the Choir.

Wow, I like that sound alot, Graham, thanks for sharing. A couple questions, was the reverb added externally from the sample set itself? Where is the virtual trumpet from? Very nice combination. I just played your downloaded mp3 thru my computer setup (which has quite a nice separate audio system). It brought my wife in to listen, so it definitely gets attention. She rarely does that. I'm anxiously waiting your completed work. Again, thanks. :)

Hi Ed,
Yes, as I explain on the download page, a 'Cathederal' sound requires more reverb than the samples sets have, so I used a Perfect Space convolution reverb on the organ in this recording. We recorded this in Reaper 64-bit running Hauptwerk 64-bit VSTi and EastWest's PLAY VSTi in 32-bit. The Trumpet comes from the EastWest's Symphonic Orchestra sample set (yes, we can play the full orchestra with the organ if we want to!). I'll be working on expression and trems this weekend, so might have an update by the end of the month...
Having Fun :-)

Graham, good job. I haven't had a chance to put it on my computer yet, but the sound of the recording indicates that you got the mixtures right.

I admire your "stick-to-it-iveness".

Hi Guys,
I've done more work and uploaded the results. The Trems are now operational, as are the expressions of the Swell and Solo. I've added various couplers (thanks to all those who added their advice to my initial thoughts). So the console now looks like this:

Go to http://www.sa-virtualorgans.co.za/HW3-EnglishCathedral.htm for the most recent update installer and CODM file.

Dear Graham,
I've enjoyed you "Free Cathedral Organ in HW3.x.
I couldn't get it to load in HW4. Do I have to reload the other instruments?

What's the exact error message you get? You can check using 'Help | View activity log' and then copy/paste it to the forum.

Yes, I think you need St Augustines, St Stephens, Prudhoe Methodist and St Annes (the latter in the HW3 version).

I'm pretty sure the installer tells you what (if any) organs are missing .

That's what it was - reloading the HW3 version of the St. Anne's organ - thank you!
Is it possible to have both organs or does reloading the HW3 version wipe out the HW4 St. Anne's?

BTW: Congrats and great work on the HW4! Multi-speaker set up was really easy!

The v4 St. Anne's and the v3-for-v4 St. Anne's can coexist independently. You can get the v3-for-v4 St. Anne's here:

Thanks - glad you like v4!

Thanks Martin for solving this while I was at work and not on the forum :)
