MAC OS X

PostWed Aug 01, 2007 2:30 pm

I'm not a mac person, so I don't know if this is valuable to anyone. For all I know it could be as worthless as a copy of Windows ME :)

But, if anyone here can use a copy of OS X for the mac, just send me a a PM here.

Which version? Apple released Mac OS X 10.4.10 on June 20,
and followed up with a v1.1 version of the update for
Intel Macs on July 2.

Was just announced that OX X 10.4.11 is probably coming soon
here in August! These are all up-dates on Tiger; odd, still
updating Tiger just a couple months or so before Leopard is
to premier! Leopard, the full up Apple 64-bit OS, etc.

Does one have to buy all those different versions as they come out or are they like service packs that can be updated via the internet (like Windows)?

I'll check the folder it's in for some hint of a version number, but it's been around a while so I'm guessing it's early release of OS X - whatever that's worth.

Clueless,

The value after the first decimal point defines major, chargeable versions (e.g. you have to pay to upgrade from 10.3.xx to 10.4.xx). The third component represents the minor version and upgrades between minor versions are free via Apple's automatic updates (similar to Windows service packs).

Best regards,
Martin.

CD says: Version 10.0.3 - Not for resale

I assume it might be useful to someone not running OS 10 but I don't know anything about their licensing schemes.

Anyway, it's free to anyone willing to pay postage. Otherwise, I will "file" it appropriately.

Not useful for running Hauptwerk, I'm afraid - Hauptwerk v2 needs OS X 10.4.

All the best,
Martin.
