I miss my daily CCH music !

PostMon Dec 08, 2014 1:44 pm

Hello

Contrebombarde.com is very slow for me,
far slower than before, since about two weeks now.
I tried at work too : same result, the browse page is very slow to appear.
I can't listen to any of the uploaded music, the buffering time is very very long !
... so long that I can't discover new pieces, or sounds of new samplesets Image

Is it normal ? what do you think ?

In contrast, I typed in Contrebombarde.Com and less than a second, the page

http://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/home/front
came up.
I clicked on Browse and also less than a second, the page

http://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/home/browse
came up.

I clicked on the first choice, Hark! a herald voice is calling by Agnus Dei and it immediately started playing.

Maybe your ISP is overloaded?

Same problem : CCH has been very slow since roughly thursday. The pages come relatively quickly, but not the music : roughly 3 minutes to wait to be able to listen to a 5 minutes piece without interruptions caused by the slow speed.
An strictly no problem with any other website.

Just tested the CCH site and no problems on this end. CCH came up right away and every selection I tried played immediately :?:

Hello

Things are better now.
The browse page is still slow to appear, but listening music has become possible again.
Don't know what happened ...

Sorry for any slowdowns on the website.

I do notice slowdowns from time to time. However, I haven't witnessed any as bad as you are describing. That may have been around the time we were backing up the site and making some changes before Christmas.

In general, we will have periodic slowdowns due to the nature of our hosting. Remember that the site is huge and becoming more popular every day. There are also no revenues for the site, currently, to fund faster, more robust service. As it stands, it's running at a loss. We're working on some ideas that might make that possible. However, the results of that remain to be seen.

For now, we've been pretty lucky with our very patient hosting service. If they decide to change the rules, we may be forced to radically change things.

Darryl
