Finally put some photos together of the construction of my console which has been happening for a couple of years now.

Beautiful console! Very elegant. Would you be interested in sharing the plans for the swell pedal assembly?

Great console! I also would like to know how to build the swell pedal and the pistons.

That's beautiful! It has a lovely light, elegant and modern look.

What wood did you use?

Good work, sir!

Thanks to all for your comments. I would be very happy to share plans of the swell pedal assembly if there were any! I made it up as I went along  . You can see more detail if you click through to the Flickr pictures, though. Or I'm happy to send an annotated photo if you PM me.

Re the wood - the basic "desk" construction is oak-veneered MDF, the music stand, cheeks and swell pedals are oak, as is the bench (which was professionally made by Renatus).

Sorry - missed tomaszartur's question about the pistons...

Thumb pistons are buttons similar to http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/red-locking-push-switch-n98aq (but not red and not locking). They are mounted on the wood strip below each keyboard (which was rather difficult to mount securely but works OK).

Toe pistons are guitar effects foot switches mounted on lengths of oak which were sold as oak cladding for walls.

What a great looking console. I especially am interested in the expression pedals that you built - an ingenious solution. Do you have any information on the sliding hardware that is right next to the potentiometer? It looks like it is some kind of hardware for cabinet doors or something of that nature. Any manufacturer or name of the type of hardware?

Thanks,

Arthur
