Finally finished ... mostly.

Although I doubt that any Hauptwerk system is truly finished, I'm done with construction - for now.

The console shell, pedal board, and bottom two keyboards (ivory!) are a 1969 Moller console purchased from Reuter Organ. The top two keyboards and extra expression pedal are from a 1962 Moller console. Key and pedal contacts are from Peterson Electro-Musical. Midi circuits are from DTS MIDI systems. Expression and crescendo pots are from Organ Supply. The bottom manual pistons are from Klann. Speakers on the console are Yamaha HS8 studio monitors. Additional speakers are 1970s DCM TimeWindows with a Denon multi-channel amp and a CerwinVega! VE 28S dual 8" subwoofer. MIDI to USB is MOTU 5x5 microlite. USB audio interface is a Behringer FCA 1616. Monitor is a Planar PXL2430MW 24" touchscreen. Tracker touch is created with magnets. Computer is Windows 7 i7 with 64g RAM, constructed from parts from NewEgg.

Casework modifications performed by former Reuter console builder Chris Phelps.

All that and about a year of tinkering. And the marriage is intact!

Thank you! The music rack is from the Moller console. I removed the fluorescent bulb and wiring, keeping the clips. I replaced it with IKEA "DIODER" LED strip lighting. There is also an IKEA "TIVED" LED light attached to the back of the rack.

The rack uses Laukhuff music rack supports that are adjustable both back and forth and up and down. If I don't need the top manual, it lowers over the keys to bring the music closer for aging eyes.

Max - good thing you have long arms for all those keyboards!! Great idea about the light BEHIND the rack also!!

I used a 24" dell flat screen for these aging eyes; import my music in musicreader and let the PDF's do the walking...

Will swap pics with you in a few months,

Great work! I always admire people, who have the mechanical skills to build their own console.
Best regards
Thomas

What did you use for the wood finish. I'm liking what I see.

Since there was a variety of woods from several sources, staining was pretty much out as a choice. It's simply paint from Home Depot. It was the quality stuff. I went with the grey for the majority of it with black accents. My art school graduate daughter helped me pick the colors. Had to put that expensive degree to use some way!
