200 new lighted thumb pistons for $100

PostWed Apr 27, 2016 4:37 pm

Seller has more. Just passing this on, nothing further to do with it. Most likely from the recent Rodgers auction.

Check out:

No longer available. Looks as if 23 groups of 200 were sold - quickly. Hopefully some of them will be used on Hauptwerk instruments . (Imagine an organ with 200 thumb pistons?) Either that, or sold in smaller lots something like re-gifting maybe?

I bought the first box. Hopefully they will be winging their way across the pond real soon. Can't imagine that I will use all 200 so some will reappear sometime in the future.. My project is coming along slowly as a kit of parts. Rodgers trio stripped out, new purpose built PC, 4 Launchpads, Hauptwerk basic and Paramount 341.

Too many other projects on the bench plus I have to get some practice in on the Burton Wurlitzer ready for my trip to Blackpool Tower later in the year. £275 per hour on the Wurlitzer, but hell it's worth it. The sound is simply awesome.

Hopefully you can record your experience both with pictures and with sound.

I saw some sets of 10 from the auction a while ago on eBay (while still looking for an empty organ cabinet near Georgia)....about $60.00 some dollars. I guess they're the highest quality there is....

There's a listing for 10 pistons at $90. And considering the above (lighted pistons) are/were at $ .50 each tho not engraved. I would consider that to be an advantage.

I know several organ supply companies offer engraving services. Anyone have a suggestion which one to use (for engraving that is.)

I'd recommend HESCO for all your engraving needs.

Ed.
Yes I hope to video whilst I am playing
I will say though that I am only a rank amateur and rarely get through a number without a mistake.

But just to play in Blackpool Tower is an experience not to be missed, especially for an amateur.

Whilst we have a magnificently maintained Wurlitzer in our local Town Hall with all the necessary sounds, the acoustics are nothing like Blackpool. One of the differences is due to a level of amplification at Blackpool

It is interesting to stay in the ballroom and then listen to the resident for the day playing all the tunes that you yourself have played earlier even though the management do not like the public recording when the resident is playing

I've been told that the room is one half of the organ (sound). Tend to agree.

I can recommend Arndt Organ Supply Company. Give them a call for comparison. They do both rotary and laser engraving.

I just ordered the 10 thumb pistons and also 4 of the of toe pistons. It said it went through. Actually I bought another set of 10. I figure I can always sell what I don't use. At $9 a piston that's pretty cheap.
