Problems uploading to ContreBombarde website

PostMon Dec 12, 2016 11:13 am

Has anyone else had problems trying to upload a performance onto the Contrebombarde web site ? My problem started was back just after Darrell Wood left. Atilla said to use a different WAV to MP3 converter than I have been using for the last seven years ( NCH). Not sure which one to use. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

No problems for me over the last many months. I've always used Audacity to export MP3 from WAV format, using the highest bit rate of 320Kb/s for best quality.

Some recordings are posted well below that bit rate, and they often suffer for it. It's a shame, since some of the performances are quite fine and deserve the best audio quality. Once you set up the parameter once in Audacity, it remembers the quality setting until you change it again.

I am having trouble uploading mp3 files (edited/exported with Audacity (ffmpeg)), too. I have tried different bitrates and browsers (all "big" ones) – but nothing works. Can anybody suggest mp3 export settings for Audacity/ffmpeg that should work?

I already wrote to the CB team. However, they didn't provide any details, but said they might have a new uploader in the near future.

Best regards,
Michael

I have just encountered upload problems too. I cannot upload anything at present. I have tried two different organ samples. The progress bar shows100% but nothing gets through to the Concert Hall browse page. No problems in the past with Audacity made MP3 files. Any ideas?

I haven't had any problems recently with uploading. I don't know, at this point, if the problem in the past was caused by my computer, server or Contre-bombarde. Very frustrating.

I cannot upload using Safari since updating to the latest Mac OS. However I can upload using Firefox on another Mac still running the previous system.

I have encountered absolutely zero problems uploading an .mp3 file to CBCH via Firefox in Mac OSX High Sierra. My most recent upload was 31December2017. Generally, I will convert the Hauptwerk .wav file to 320kbps .mp3 through Apple Logic Pro X 10.3.3.

Cheers,

Joe
