Hauptwerk meets Marc Chagall and Oskar Heil

PostSun Jan 22, 2017 10:42 am

Recently i have become the proud owner of a new Hauptwerk console

Image

This console has been designed and manufactured by Bovenschen virtual organs.
Since i own several sets with 4 manuals, i opted for a 4 manual console with Uht (wooden core) manuals, a concave pedal, 3x swell and 4 foot pistons.

Image

the outer two pistons i use to change pages for my music reader software and the inner two pistons i use for reg+ and reg-
Beneath the left monitor are 3 volume controle knobs.
Left for master volume, center for mixing close and diffuse perspectives and right for the rear volume.

Image

To pimp my organ space (cave) in my cellar i chose stained glass windows from Marc Chagall which i downloaded from the internet and made visible by a Samsung tv monitor with the pics. on a usb stick.

Image

As speakers i use custom made speakers with, starting from 1200HZ the (Oskar) Heil air motion transformers.
These speakers are dipole's and produce a very spacious, detailled non fatiguing sound even when situated close to your ears. The sub is a mj acoustics reference one.
I use a the Motu 828X as soundcard using the built in DSP crossovers and 3 spdiff outs to connect to my 3 full digital Qls qa100 amplifiers.

Image

The timing and roomcorrection is performed with Dirac roomcorrection software.

Indeed... You should be very proud (and some of us, ´nicely envious´¡ :? ). What a console and setting¡

(But rather difficult to play that sheet music¡)

Thank you Luis

The notation i use is Klavarscribo. It is a notation without sharps and flats and is widely used in the Netherlands by organists, however the real conservatory organists use the traditional notation.

The main advantage is that you can much easier learn pieces with klavar notation.

¡Wow¡ Each day bring us a new surprise. For decades I have been convinced that there could not be an alternative musical notation...That the traditional is as perfect as the arithmetical one¡ Thanks Jan for the insight¡

Fascinating! Organ Tablature makes a big come-back in a modern guise. This does sound intriguing.

Hi Jan,

I seems to have a kinship with the paper rolls with holes punched at the appropriate note location.
Thanks for the explanations.

Wow! Your console looks really like situated in a chapel. And with room correction you make no compromises. I like it!
Best regards

What a beautiful fusion of technology and art! Wish I could hear it, too.

The console and surround in beautiful. I am impressed with the back-lit mural on the wall. I was thinking about a church mural to put behind my console but this looks much nicer albeit more expensive.
