I use two Samsung TVs both with Keytec overlays. They seem to work pretty well although calibrating them can be a bit tricky since I use them in portrait.

I sometimes think about replacing them with dedicated touchscreen monitors as I think they might be a bit easier to use. The touch is generally reliable but sometimes it doesn't always register and the overlays mean that the monitors sit some way behind the touch sensitive panel. Other than that, they have worked well for me.
Best wishes,
Marcus

Hello atugores,

[Topic moved here, since it isn't a technical support request for the Hauptwerk software itself.]

This question gets asked quite often on the forum, so if you look back through topics in this section of the forum (Computer hardware/specs) that have the word 'touch' in their titles, then hopefully you'll be able to find quite a few previous recommendations, and reports of previous experiences with different makes/models, on the Mac platform.
Best regards, Martin.

I have set up a Mac Mini system for a friend using a Elo 1739L 17" touch screen such as these (for used monitors): http://www.ebay.com/itm/Elo-Touch-17-ET1739L-7CWA-1-NPB-G-LCD-TouchScreen-Monitor-Open-Frame-E607940-/272526478437?hash=item3f73d80c65:g:icMAAOSw3YNXZWx8. or [url]

Further: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=Elo+1739L+17%22+touch+screen.&_sacat=0

They are quite reliable mostly having previously been used commercially in kiosks. As such, they ar open frame (not enclosed). Bezels are available separately should you want to mount the monitor in a case.
https://www.carid.com/elo-touch/17-front-mount-bezel-for-1739l-1790l-mpn-e860319.html

There are quite a few of this monitor on ebay as well as other sources such as https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1N83ZR4988&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleMKP-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleMKP-PC-_-pla-_-POS+-+Touchscreen+Monitors-_-9SIA1N83ZR4988&gclid=COzHsKabr9ICFUq5wAodZ8INPQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

Specs here: https://www.elotouch.com/open-frame-touchscreens/1739l.html:

The touch driver for a Mac is here: : https://www.hightail.com/dl?phi_action=app/orchestrateDownload&rurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hightail.com%2Ftransfer.php%3Faction%3Dbatch_download%26batch_id%3DcUJWK2Vxa0RIcWR1a3NUQw

Hope that helps you get started.

I'm just getting my system set up. How unfortunate that macs don't natively support touchscreens. That said, I went with a used Mac Pro tower (2012), since everything else about a Mac is perfect for HW.

I went with Viewsonic TD2220 - they retail for around $349CDN / $249US . You'll need to get a driver from https://touch-base.com . You'll need your exact model number. You get a fully functional version as a trial - but need to recalibrate after every 100 clicks. The driver costs about $100 to purchase in its fully enabled version.
