I agree totally with this comment!
Just a question to mnailor: how do you dispatch the sound to your 16 channels? Cyclic, per division, per stop family, ...?

Ludu, it's more or less by pitch/weight and cyclic.

Audio groups are by monitor type:

Group 1. 8 Adam A3X, 4 front and 4 rear "upper"
Group 1A. 4 front A3X only "front"
Group 1B. 4 rear A3X only "rear"

Group 2. 4 Adam A8X in front "middle"

Group 3. 4 KRK RP10, on floor front and rear "lower"

1 SVS PC2000 mixed down from A8X and KRK groups

Default cyclic routing by rank, note,, octaves cycled within each group.

For most 8' and upperwork ranks, I use either group 1 or groups 1A and 1B, which are mapped to the same speakers in the RME UFX mixer. I rarely use the split front/rear groups because even surround sets sound better to me with all the samples spread out in the larger group. But I can test front-rear separation this way.

For heavier 8' and a few bright 16' ranks, group 2.

For most 16' and all 32' ranks, group 3.

Another odd behavior with GO Barker (Copula GO). Even with it set to default On, the master crescendo will turn it off at some stages but not others, with no pattern that I can see. Crescendo shouldn't turn anything off.

This is indeed weird! The master crescendo should generally only recall what has been programmed before.

This odd behavior of the GO Barker doesn't happen unless I set it to default to ON, I discovered after much self-inflicted aggravation... :D

Aristide v2.5.5 is a small update, which corrects a few bugs and typos and adds a new simple screen.

I am very grateful that Luc Dupuis translated the manual to French. Both the English and French version can be directly assessed from within the sample set (Hauptwerk > Organ > Show organ information ...) and are available as separate downloads from my website.

How do we request the update if we already purchased 2.5? Thank you.

Hi Marc,

I just double-checked. Two days ago you have received an email with the download link. I will send you the link again. Please check your spam folder.

Best,

In 2018, the composite sample set Aristide no. 1 was published. Now in 2020, it is time for some new attention regarding this wonderful sample set! Aristide No. 1 is intended to imitate the sound of the the great Aristide Cavaillé-Coll organ at Saint-Ouen in Rouen, France. The creators worked for years on this set, and tested countless beta versions. The result is absolutely beautiful and, in my opinion, very close to the original organ.

This composite sample set requires the following sample sets:
-Metz (MDA);
-Caen Surround (Sonus Paradisi);
-Dom Bédos Demo.

All credits to Christoph Schmitz, Torsten Wege and Lorenzo Bonoldi for their wonderful job. Please see the website of Aristide No. 1 for further details and how to order: https://hauptwerk-organ.com/aristide/.

Tip: I use this sample set with truncated samples, and adding reverb (IR) via Reaper with Altiverb. In Altiverb, the space of the actual Saint-Ouen is measured and can be used as an IR. The result is amazing.
