If you read about Windows 10 being the last version of Windows you notice that the new business model shifts from 'buy a license and get updates free' to 'rent a license and pay for it again each year (maintenance)'. Essentially Microsoft wants to charge you for updates. This is not uncommon in application software installations where the license is granted and the software installed and then each year there is a 'maintenance fee' which extracts more money from the user. So when we all get our Windows 360 installed and begin paying either monthly or yearly payments to Microsoft, the issue of support will be moot.
