New Sacre Coeur Composite Sample set

PostMon Feb 25, 2019 3:45 pm

If anyone is interested, I have just compiled an organ from various samplesets to the specification of the Sacre Coeur Organ in Montmartre, and it consistes of 75 ranks on 4 manuals and pedal board. I had to cut a couple stops in order to fit the entire organ. It is sampled mainly off of Caen and Forclaquier. I have made the sample set available on my website for those who would want to use it: https://organareginaecaeli.wordpress.com/

Fabulous!!! If I may ask, how did you build this, that is, did you use did you use MYCO? Are you making it available for others?

I have made the files available on my website, which is https://organareginaecaeli.wordpress.com.
There are instructions for downloading and installing.
I did use Myco for part of it, but I had to do most of the coding and tuning myself, but the software did help quite a bit.

Sincerely,

Jason

Thank you for the reply Jason! I thought I recognized the MYCO screen. I have it but have not been successful in using it!

The demos sound wonderful! You have done an excellent job in recreating a fabulous organ!

I wondered if the "free demo" of the Sananyi would be sufficient for the stops used, or does it require the full sample set?

I just checked, and there is not a free demo of Santanyi, I confused it with the Palma!

Hi Jason, I tried to find the download link to the Sacre Coeur with Rotterdam version, but was unable to do so! Was I looking in the wrong place?

I just checked your website and see that you are quitting!!! Why give up so early in the game? I was so looking forward to this sample set with the Rotterdam samples, this breaks my heart! All the demos on Contrebombarde sounded great.

Dear Scott,

As much as I love to create these composite sets, it seems God has called me to leave the world, and thus I must oblige, thus I will no longer have access to the necessary resources to create new sets. I will try my best to get a Rotterdam version up before, but there are no guarantees.

Yours in Christ,

Jason

Hello Jason, I am so sorry to hear this, but the Divine has reasons beyond our understanding. Let me know if you can get the Rotterdam version done. Godspeed on your journey, and enjoy the view when you get there, I did!

Dear Scott,

I thank you for your concern, but I am not sick, but rather entering a monastery, and that is what I meant by leaving the world. Sorry for the confusion.

Sincerely, Jason

Hope you have have a nice organ there. I made a HW for a Benedictian monk. As far as we know, he is the only O.S.B monk with a HW in his cell. You could be the second one. Hope also you fulfill your life there.
Sincerely,
Luis

If you listen to the first improvisation here called "Fanfare" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FINXfL_xXW0
when the organ was in good playing condition (early 80's) I think you might notice that there is a huge difference from the way your sample set sounds. I am not putting down your work, it's just that the ranks and acoustics are quite different from the Sacre Coeur organ.
