Which sample set would you love to see re-recorded, and for what reason?

Please answer, regardless of whether you think it could or would ever happen.

1 - Hinz organ of Leens (Sygsoft): only stereo with a very close recording, too dry for me, but so beautiful!
2 - Haringe (Sygsoft): it deserves a surround recording. I played it and this splendid French Baroque organ seemed to me to have a much richer sound
3 - Roquemaure (OAM): only HW1, it's a pity
4- Pekela (Virtual organ NL): it deserves better than this very old version
5 - Grenzing of Geneva, Eaux-Vives (AVO): recorded with some clumsiness, much traffic all around and therefore too denoised
6 - Naxxar (Maltese HPO): also recorded into a noisy church, with poor microphones

I think my #1 vote goes to the Schyven-van Beveren organ Laeken. Only a few separate stops were recorded, and a few stop combinations. It is a beautiful organ in French-Romantic style, and larger and more versatile than other available recorded French-Romantic organs.

Close competitor is Kampen: re-recording with sampled tremulants for all relevant stops. The organ is perhaps the most popular organ in The Netherlands, and it is famous for its warm tremulants sounds, so it is a pity that they were not recorded (except for 1 stop).

I dream about newer ODFs for some (all?) sample sets so that every sample set follows an identical pattern, even if as an alternative.

1. Simple screens all set out the same, eg pedal on right, great on left etc
2. Separate screen volume slides for every channel
3. Built in Crescendo, with on screen controls
4. Supplied suggested pp, p, f, ff, tutti
5. Keyboards all numbered the same, eg Great = kb1, Swell = kb 2 etc
6. Tremulant for each keyboard (I don't have to use them).

If such suggestions were implemented, many controls could be automatically set up when the sample set is installed.

Mount Carmel Skinner

I think my #1 vote goes to the Schyven-van Beveren organ Laeken.

Without hesitation, my choice also. I have always loved this set.

For me the Mount Carmel Skinner. It is the organ I use most, because it is close to the Skinner we have in our church. And the technology has moved forward and I would love an better, more versatile version. But i don't know if this will happen as desire for a new edition has been running around for years but nothing seems to happen.

Another vote for Mt. Carmel Skinner here. Surround, while making up fantasies.

And then Salisbury and Hereford surround versions!

I'll cast another vote for the Mt. Carmel Skinner.
It's an excellent spec:
- Two Celestes (Flute & Sting)
- Two Solo stops (En Chamade & Tuba Mirabalis)
- Two 32' stops
a nice array of percussions (harp, chimes, carillon, & zimbelstern)
and of course the signature Skinner French Horn!

While we are waiting longly and patiently for new samplsets and new software version,
let's look backwards on the old soundsets...

I agree this, and I don't use them anymore, that's realy a pity !

Indeed, a new high quality "Laeken" sampleset would be great !
And why not a 6 chanels Forcalquier and Saint-Maximin ? That could be on my dream list too !

Although I'm quite satisfied with St. Max, I think 1 more run at it would likely make a noticeable difference.

1) These four gems , but ancient recordings which, whatever their great quality, weren't recorded with the present technologies :
-Roquemaure
- St Marien Kirche Silbermann
- St Georgen Kirche Silbermann
- Cappel

2) And , for more recent samples :
- Ebersmünster ( with à near/far recording)
-St Maximin ( with à near/far recording)
- Ottobeuren ( with à near :far recording)

Maybe I am crazy, but I think it might be nice to have the Ducroquet Cavaille-Coll organ from OAM redone. I find it an interesting instrument, but being only 16 bit, and Hauptwerk 2 format, it seems it could shine if redone.

I know it's not the biggest, but I like it.

Ottobeuren is supposed to come out in the future with adjustable acoustics

Cappel, but it is not going to happen (they have distanced themselves from the current sample set; and I doubt they would allow another recording)

Krewerd, one of the oldest organs in the world, deserves a totally new recording.

Krewerd indeed is a gem.
