Is there a complete tutorial for the upgrade process?

PostTue Jan 14, 2020 3:27 pm

Hi,

Is there a complete tutorial or a collection of tutorials collected into a forum message where they can be followed by a customer without adult supervision?

I have gotten behind the power curve by too many postings to figure out what to do first :(

That one is a very simplistic overview.

For a more detailed understanding, try my previous post:

Hello Thomas,

I'd suggest also starting by reading:

- The release notice ( https://www.hauptwerk.com/documentation/ ).

- The prerequisites and installation instructions in the user guide ( https://www.hauptwerk.com/documentation/ ).

- If you're using a Mac, it's also very important that you delete your v4 installation before installing v5: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=17850

- My licensing/FAQ thread here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=17833

- Instructions for migrating licences and sample sets: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=17833&start=15#p134736

- Download links for v5 versions of Milan Digital Audio and Paramount sample sets are here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=17988 . (For other sample set producers, consult their websites.)

- Known issues and bugs of note in v5.0.0 (pending v5.0.1 release): viewtopic.php?f=10&t=17970
Best regards, Martin.

One more step that is frequently overlooked...
Any encrypted Sample Set licensed for HW5 will only play if there is a corresponding entry in the folder of "Hauptwerk Licensing Packages", of which the current version can be downloaded from https://www.hauptwerk.com/licensingpackages

See previous post for further discussion on this topic:
