New PC for Hauptwerk v6

I love the H6 audio!
But i will have to invest in a new computer processor.
Can anyone tell me if this will work?
An Xeon E5 -2699 v4 on a MSI X99A Raider motherboard?

If you enable both the 'high definition pitch shifting' and 96 kHz options in v6, then very, very roughly you're likely to need at least 4x as much computing power available as v5 would need for any given organ.

Whilst I'll probably need to leave other people to comment in more detail (if they have any thoughts on it), I see that the CPU model you mention has 22 physical cores, with a clock speed of 2.40 GHz, supports AVX2, 2.5 MB CPU cache per core, and was released in 2016:

Whilst more-recent models are likely to be more powerful (all else being equal), multiplying the number of cores by the base frequency gives 22 x 2.40 = 52.8, which could be used to give a very, very rough benchmark to compare against your existing CPU for polyphony capability. (However, there are also overheads in synchronising additional cores, so polyphony won't quite scale linearly.)

Note also that the base clock speed is still very important (even when there are very large numbers of cores), for things like processing background models, organ loading speeds, processing MIDI events, etc.

Only one benchmark, but playing Caen full organ without suboctave couplers, with high def pitch shifting at 48k sample rate, peaks at 5 green bars on Hauptwerk's CPU meter on my 8 core + 8 hyperthread i9 processor.

I see your existing CPU has 6 cores, 3.30 Ghz base clock speed, supports AVX2, 2.5 MB CPU cache per core, and was released in 2014:

Cores x clock speed gives: 19.8

(Same supported instruction sets, same CPU cache per core, fairly similar vintage.)

My guess would be that the Xeon would manage somewhere around 2x the polypohony of your current CPU. The Xeon's lower clock speed would be a disadvantage in other areas, though.

Because off a computer crash i am upgrading also.
I did some research and ordered the amd ryzen 9 5950X 16 cores cpu 3.4-Ghz-4,9Ghz with a asrock x 570 creator motherboard and 128 hyper x 128 gb ram.
The motherboard has a thunderbolt connection for future soundcard updates!
These processors uses 16 cores and beat every intel processor on the market in the revieuws.
I think a very good choice for Hauptwerk.

I decided to do a bit of an upgrade ,but did not really feel like getting into a new motherboard,ram,ect.
So i ordered the Xeon E5-2697A v4 and hopefully its going work out.
Its the best one compatible with my motherboard,Bios, that i could find,
Cost was almost 800 US ,- a used one- from Ebay.

That might be the case but now with 96khz , 8 channel very large sample sets and what will come in the future i decided to go for this processor.
