New free Paramount 310 ...

PostTue Apr 27, 2010 4:13 am

Can I please say that Alan and Joe's new free Paramount Theatre Organ is absoloutely fabulous. I mean for a free organ it is amazing, and it is so so good of them to give this away for nothing.

Alan, and Joe, all I can say is that anyone who downloads this organ will feel compelled (as I am) to purchase the 320 as soon as it is available, just to give you recompense for all your hard work.

I have, by writing this thread revealed the availability of the organ, when maybe Alan and Joe were hoping people would slowly discover it for themselves, and if that was the case, I apologise, but I must acknowledge the quality of their work.

Thanks so much, Alan, and Joe

Ken.

Thanks for your kind words Ken. We're pleased that you like it. The 320 should not be too long now. We're just getting our breath back. :)

I didn't announce it here, because the download wasn't properly in place along with the organ info, but as it is now available from the Hauptwerk downloads area, there's no problem talking about it.

Brett has kindly provided two links which I will publish in a separate thread.

The Paramount 310 can also be found by using the Hauptwerk website usual search facilities.
Regards,

Alan.

May I add my thanks to Michael Woolridge for his 15 general and 50 divisional combination settings. Classical organs seem almost intuitive to set combinations in a sort of pattern from celestes to full organ with all reeds, but T/Os have so many possible permutations that they are quite bewildering. I am very appreciative of having these basics already done for me. There are so many individual stops that at present I am just pressing pistons on the touch screen and trying to remember which combinations I find appealling for various types of music- hoping to develop the art of using the T/Scr for tweaking some of them. I too wait for the 320 as I would feel guilty in accepting all this for no cost - and will also look forward to the aditional ranks.

Can you tell me where I can access the presets/combinations by Michael Wooldridge (Wollridge) that you mention? Thanks. Ed

Ed,

You asked about the English Combinations file from Michael Wooldridge ... As Francois says, you can download it from the Paramount Organs download page. As for installing it - just follow the instructions that are contained quite clearly on the second page in the "Show Organ Information" accessed via the Organ menu in HW.
