I read a report that a few churches in the U.S. recently reported a man fitting Bretts description sneaking around after hours, hanging around the organ with with what appeared to be a microphone!

Just kidding.

Awaiting that V4

The following is a reader survey. Do you think it is a 2M or a 3M? In either case, sounds great. :D

While on the subject of MIDI player/recorders, any of you T/O fans remember when Jim Henry put one on the MidiTzers? That feature, too, was well received. A virtual YouTube (sort of). 8) I found it especially useful/educational to watch the registration changes occurring and hearing the results in real time.

It was actually more than one microphone!

Hello Gerrit,

It is just a simple mp3 link:

http://downloads.hauptwerk.com/mp3/Haup ... oOrgan.mp3

Any browser should be able to open it and your default mp3 player will launch to play the file.

The link is definitely fine and working well, so it seems you may have some local issue there if you still cannot get the mp3 to play.

Will it still be possible to load and play St Anne's Moseley in Hauptwerk 4? I live near that church and have heard and played the real organ a number of times and was very impressed at the sense of realism when playing "it" in HW3. If you are saying that's old technology now I keenly await newer developments!

It must be a 2 manual instrument, to match the most typical setup and to make sure that it fits in the memory for the free version of HW. Or maybe different versions of HW will include different versions of the organ? I doubt so.

Will it also include other MIDI files?

I'm hoping this means HW 4 is very close. Since originally it was set for the first half of 2010, we are now about 9 months overdue. I've been searching for the early info about what would be in HW 4 but find it too daunting given the size of the forums. Can someone point to that info?
Thanks,
Steve

This old post previewed some (by no means all) of the new features of Hauptwerk v4:

http://forum.hauptwerk.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7028&start=15#p49548

Will it also include other MIDI files?

Hello Imre,

No - it will just include the one demo file. However, Hauptwerk v4 designed to make it extremely easy for people to create and exchange MIDI files, so we're hoping that a good selection will be become available fairly quickly, e.g. from third-parties and perhaps via Contrabombarde.com.

A little while ago, a pdf file was made available on the new features of HW4; is that still up to date, or can we expect a few more surprises?

Hello Adri,

The link to the v4 preview brochure (July 2010) was in the preview forum post:

http://forum.hauptwerk.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7028&start=15#p49548

Only a subset of the v4 features have been announced publicly so far (including in that topic and brochure) - there are lots more that will be unveiled when v4 is released.
Best regards, Martin.
