BWV 565 played by Gert van Hoef

Certainly most of you have head J.S. Bach -Toccata & Fugue in D-minor many times before, but it is a pleasure to see and hear this young talented organist perform it.

Also take a listen to some other of his performances and hear, how his talent has developed during the last four years.

Best regards

I purchased one of his DVD's however he only used digital organs. He only used digital organs on his second DVD too.

And that is just how I like to hear it!
Wonderful acoustics in this church.
This is still a great piece of music,
even if it's authorship has sometimes
been in question, and also even if
it is sometimes played quite poorly.
But it is very nice to hear it so well performed!

And Glen, please don't make any disparaging
remarks about digital organs,
at least not here on this site!
Of course I also prefer a pipe organ
when one is available, and clearly it was
for this video, which I will save and savor.

Nothing disparaging about digital organs, however Gert has a lot of Youtube videos where he plays a variety of pipe organs. I hope he eventually does a DVD playing a pipe organ or at least a VPO. DVD's Gert made are nice however he played different Eminent organs which are a far cry from a pipe organ or a VPO. I enjoy the way he plays Finlandia on the DVD.
