Still impressed with the high quality of work and the wonderfull result being built! 8)

Is it much different from the consoles which are produced by the organ making company you are working for, or is it substantially the same design, techniques, etc... that are being used to produce yours?

Thanks for the compliment! :D

The console case construction is actually the same as we do normally for pipe organs. Also we do not have UHT manuals so the key cheeks are made different now and we use Harris draw stops for electric stop action but these are not very suitable for home use. Pedal board, swells and foot pistons are the same.

For large organs with a lot of stops it is far more handy to have stop tabs in my opinion (as I have made now). Very silent compared to draw stops if you use a combination action. In various concert halls in Europe you see these stop tabs being used with electric (stage) consoles.

Have to dismantle everything so I can varnish all parts.

Hi Martijn,

A wonderful console... I think I came back 5 or 6 times since you have posted your last pictures, just to enjoy them! 8)

Which sample sets do you intend to install on it?

I agree with Pat. I just keep coming back to admire these photos over and over again. I covet

One question, however, how do plan to label the stop tabs? Will you have them engraved for a primary sample set and then use some sort of removable or temporary labels for other sets?

Workmanship waaaaay beyond my patience, thought process and abilities. A couple of words come to mind: Wow, Superb and Outstanding (just to name a few)!

I enjoy envisioning things a person can make out of wood and metal, getting the idea in your head, then proceeding to actually do it. Being a DIY'er myself, one of the things I've REALLY enjoyed about the HW forum is seeing all the others here in their shops, with the tools they have on hand and having the cability and desire to do the same and produce some amazing outcomes. Someone really should publish an HW DIY magazine with photos and articles of the latest builds, I would definitely be a subscriber! For now I have Hot Rod. :D

Martijn, you are to be congatulated on your efforts! Waaaay cool! 8)
