Is anyone having trouble loading organs with Hauptwerk v9 and mac OS Sequoia? I sometimes get an error message like this: "Could not load sample ID 014630 (Volumes/HW/HauptwerfkSampleSetsAndComponents/OrganInstallationPackages/002963/near/III-06_FlautaTraversa4/L/085-c#.wav) - this sample object is configured to read the pitch from the sample file, but the sampler chunk in the file does not contain a valid pitch. Message code (for diagnostic purposes):4669"
If I re-install the set the error may be about a different stop or note, but sometimes I don't get the error anymore. The same sample set installed with Hauptwerk v9 but an earlier version of macOS is still accepted. This may be about sets from different producers.
Is there any incompatibility between Hauptwerk v9 and MacOS Sequoia (15.1)?

Re: Hauptwerk v9 and macOS Sequoia
This might be the "permissions" problem from Hauptwerk past rearing its ugly head. Basically, sometimes Hauptwerk has permission to access a file, sometimes it doesn't. OS updates don't recognize file permissions created by earlier OS versions, so they don't let Hauptwerk access certain files. To get around it, you may have to manually delete every Hauptwerk file, and reinstall from scratch. Hopefully someone else has a better idea though!
Re: Hauptwerk v9 and macOS Sequoia
Hello Gérard,
[Topic moved here.]
First of all, thanks very much for upgrading to v9.
Various people have tested macOS 15 ('Sequoia') with Hauptwerk v8 and v9 over the past few months, and none have found any compatibility problems with it yet.
Do you mean that you have the problem with just one particular sample set, or with several?
A temporary/erratic loss of connection to the iLok licence/dongle could possibly cause that kind of problem. Is your licence on an iLok dongle? If so, does keeping that that the dongle attached to a USB port directly on the computer (not via a USB hub) eliminate it?
Also, please make sure that all macOS power-saving features are disabled, such as 'App Nap' (a.k.a. 'Power Nap'): https://www.lifewire.com/control-how-ma ... ap-2260788
Conceivably, over-filling the RAM might cause something within macOS to behave with regard to USB, and a newer macOS version might need a bit more RAM for itself than previous ones. Are the affected sample set(s) large ones? How much RAM does your computer have, how much RAM is reported as 'free' by Hauptwerk when loading those sample sets(s)? Is Hauptwerk's RAM meter in (or nearly in) the red?
Also, a temporary/erratic loss of connection to the drive on which the samples or cache are stored could give an error like that. Are they on the Mac's main internal drive, or on an external drive?

Re: Hauptwerk v9 and macOS Sequoia
P.S. There's a big storm here today, and I've been without power for most of the day, with a risk of more power cuts. Also, two pieces of my computer hardware have already been fried today by voltage fluctuations, so I think I'll shut everything else down again for safety, and try to get things working again once the storm has calmed down, which might possibly not be until tomorrow or Monday.
Hence apologies in advance for any delayed replies on my part, if applicable.

Re: Hauptwerk v9 and macOS Sequoia
Hi Martin
Thank you for your answer. I'm trying to give you some more informations.
My problem is not with one particular sample set, but for several, not all of them and not always for a specific sample set.
My iLok licence dongle has the licence in it and it is always attached to a USB port directly on my computer.
I don't use power saving features.
I'm not overfilling the RAM. The error message that y copied for you was with a AVO dry set using few RAM (the remaining RAM was about 60%). This Mac has 16 Gb RAM.
It is with an external 4 Tb USB drive directly plugged to one Thunderbolt 4 port of my macMini M2 Pro.
The same sample sets installed by Hauptwerk v9 on an USB external hard disk, an old iMac with the same amount of RAM (16 Gb), but under macOS 10.13.6 never had such problem.
We also have a storm here and I can wait for your connection because after several installations all my sample sets are now working.

Although Hauptwerk requests to macOS that it shouldn't be put into a power-saving state when running, App Nap sometimes causes problems with other devices or driver components that Hauptwerk is using (directly or indirectly).
If that doesn't solve it, I would suspect some kind of erratic problem with the external drive -- either files actually getting corrupted on it, or that the Mac is momentarily dropping the connection to it, resulting in data being corrupted as it's being read.
If the problem comes back, try shutting the computer down fully, restarting it, then reloading the same organ (without reinstalling), just to see whether the same error persists with the same sample. If so, repeat a couple more times (to help be more certain), and if it still persists with the same sample every time then it strongly suggests that the file has actually become corrupted on the drive (e.g. due to some fault in the drive, insufficient power supply to it, or some compatibility between the drive and macOS 15).
It would also be worth testing the Mac's RAM, and testing the drive for errors.
If you haven't already, please do first make sure that macOS 'App Nap' is disabled, for good measure:

Re: Hauptwerk v9 and macOS Sequoia
Thank you Martin
I desactived macOS 'App Nap' as you advise me. But I don't see what else I could do because the sample sets that gave me problems with macOS Sequoia have always installed correctly; from the same files, with a previous macOS. So they are not corrupted and the hard drives they are on work correctly. These incidents being random, I cannot reproduce them on order. I will keep you informed if this happens again.
