I would start by checking all of the midi using a tool such as MidiMedic. The message you received would suggest that the Microlite can't be accessed from the computer. I have a microlite which occasionally won't respond - in my simpler environment I've found a power cycle helps.

If you are going to add an M.2 drive, you should check that this will not adversely affect the performance of the existing M.2. Some motherboards can only run one M.2 at top speed.
