Re: St Mary, Redcliffe
I very pleased with the SMR organ. Richard and Jerimiah have done an excellent job in creating the sample set. It sounds wonderful both via my speaker setup (5 front, 2 rear, 1 sub) and on my headphones. I know real instrument only through recordings and the sample set sounds better than these ...

Re: York!!!
…and it’s not scheduled for delivery until sometime in 2026.
There are some good UK cathedral/large organs to enjoy before York Minster is available, including St Mary Redcliffe which arrives on December 6, 2024.

Re: Hauptwerk IX Early User Experience
You can use a desktop extender program (such as Duet or Deskspace) and put the touch menu in a Hauptwerk console window which is shared with a tablet computer (iPad etc). You can also use a midi control (such as a piston) to bring the Touch Menu onto a screen only when needed.

Re: Hauptwerk IX Early User Experience
Julian said “It looks as though the new interface has gone backwards here, as it doesn't seem to have a way of showing all the favourite organs together, and having to page through 64 organs one by one…” You can. The release guide says “Functions that select things directly from lists (such as favori ...

Hauptwerk IX Early User Experience
{Hauptwerk IX has been announced on the Hauptwerk web site...] I’ve been fortunate to have been trying out Hauptwerk IX for a little while as apart of MDA’s testing programme. Hauptwerk IX continues to provide excellent sound quality and works reliably and stably on my Windows 11 environment. The poi ...

Re: New Sample Set - St. Davids Cathedral, Wales
Thanks, that will be great.
Whilst online presentations and YouTube videos are good, but not everyone likes learning about “stuff” only that way. Written documentation which can be read offline still has a place, for at least some of us.

Re: New Sample Set - St. Davids Cathedral, Wales
I tried the trial version of this organ and was impressed with the “feel” and sound of the product and decided to buy it. The purchase was straightforward. I received a link to download the instrument and an email confirming the details. I downloaded the sample set (19.6GB) from Google drive and ins ...

Re: St David's Cathedral coming....
St David's (in Wales) is a beautiful small cathedral and the organ does sound very good and this may well be a good sample set. I'm sure Ivan Barritt will do a good job. However, the organ in St David's is not a very typical "English" Cathedral Organ.- There is no Solo division. The east Choir ...

Re: Metzler Surround Release
The price for this when there was only a stereo version was 500 Euro, so the total paid with the upgrade to surround sound is 500 + 325 = 825 Euro, as against 625 euro if you were to buy the surround set now. The 200 Euro cost for having it for several years before the surround version was available ...

Re: Forum software update Sept 2024
Thanks Brett. The change has worked.
However, on the ipad, with both Safari and Chrome, the top line of the banner (notifications, private messages, login ..) is repeated. I don’t think this was doing this previously.
Update. Clearing the cache seems to have fixed this.

Forum software update Sept 2024
Thanks for doing this work. I hope it cures the various failures we have seen over the last few years. It seems nice to use on the iPad… I notice that the system is now displaying details from users’ profiles along side their posts - even when the viewer has not logged on. Can this be turned off ple ...
