Perspective level scalar sliders?

When I use rank perspectives 2, 3, or 4, I think it would be useful to have an overall slider for each perspective to scale the percentage of original signals sent to that perspective. Having to go back to Rank Voicing and select the same ranks again to change the percentages makes experimenting to ...

Re: St Mary, Redcliffe

sclg: You can leave the Solo/Echo unassigned and couple it where needed if you like. I assigned it to the Swell for convenience (but less flexibility) because the Swell has no soft stops and I never use my 4th manual. Jerry: Sorry, I was only talking about the buttons I see on the Simple screen view ...

Re: St Mary, Redcliffe

Not the same, but overlapping. Reeds on Choir makes any Great reed(s) that are drawn play on the Choir manual instead of the Great. If none are drawn at the time, no Trombas play. But Tromba on Choir also draws the Great Tromba 8 so it plays now. It lets you solo the Tromba(s) and accompany them ...

Re: St Mary, Redcliffe

I redeemed and activated the trial license in iLok at the same time, but it expires 14 days (not 7) after one of those operations, so I'd hold off redeeming until you're ready to test. In HW8 and HW9, you can install without the iLok license, so download and install before redeeming the trial ...

Understood. I'm glad it wasn't a disaster. Thanks for explaining.

Re: St Mary, Redcliffe

I have a question about Reeds on Choir and Tromba on Choir. Which reeds are coupled to Choir? Tromba presumably the one from the Great? Which stops or Divisions are affected by Doubles Off? Reeds on Choir: The three GT reeds are transferred to the CH and no longer play on GT. [Edit: The Trombas ...

Re: Restore all settings for a single organ sample set

Do you mean HW spontaneously started running unrar.exe on an organ's installation RAR file? Weird, but reinstalling shouldn't have deleted any organ settings, should it? Reinstall never does that for me, even if I cancel it. I don't know of anything you can do but start configuring the organ again ...

Re: Ordering prebuilt custom PC from online companies

Thanks! I'm happy to do performance tuning and testing on my own, but definitely want to buy from a commercial company's menu.

Re: Convolution reverb Vs Surround ranks

Yes, there's a reason, but I don't want to discourage you from enjoying a sampleset that wouldn't fit in your memory without using release truncation and convolution reverb, which also reduces polyphony and so can run with a less powerful CPU. (Releases count as voices for polyphony and continue to ...

Ordering prebuilt custom PC from online companies

Has anyone ordered a custom prebuilt PC from a company like Adamant or via Newegg to use with Hauptwerk? If so, would you be willing to share how it worked out? Thank you. I'm thinking about where to get my next PC, maybe a Ryzen 9950X or Intel Ultra 285K (when available). I've used Dell for a long ...

Re: inspired acoustics "Urakami" and "Mannheim" Reverb Settings

I don't have either of those, but if they have a fairly dry perspective, you could truncate releases and try a few of the demo reverbs that come with Hauptwerk to see if that makes the samplesets sound good on your system. If I think a surround sampleset is too dry for me, I'll try truncating ...

Re: Hauptwerk IX Early User Experience

Before using the new per-organ reverb option (nice feature!), I had a set of 12 buses with some of the Caen 6m omni and rear IRs on them for use by any organ that I wanted to have a long reverb added to one of its perspectives. Then I decided to add a shorter reverb to St. David's on perspective 2 ...

Re: Hauptwerk IX Early User Experience

Well, I went and upgraded to V9. Like the new menu! It feels easier to navigate. I left hiding all the optionals "unchecked!" Next time I play my silver octopus set, I'll give it a separate bus with its own convolution reverb. That will be nice! HW8 could do that with a separate bus. In HW9, you ...
