Re: “EQ” when using speakers
I would get better speakers. For example, Adam T8Vs are $300 each, have brilliant treble, and you could keep your Velodyne subwoofers for mixdown, and use the 661s as rear surround speakers where some dullness won't be such a big problem. If you can't get better speakers, using Hauptwerk as a VST ...

Re: “EQ” when using speakers
Sorry, I assumed he meant the decrease wasn't just the normal pipe volume variation across the pitch range. If it's that, it shouldn't be "fixed" at all.

Re: “EQ” when using speakers
I'd be looking at your speakers and amplifiers for the cause, not the samples (unless it's only one of your organs with the symptom) or the audio interface. What model of speakers? Are the speakers' tweeters facing you directly at ear level, with no horizontal or vertical angle? Are they close to ...

Re: Cloning specific combinations to new set?
Would it be quicker to load the source combination set, hit general cancel and set the pistons/combinations you don't want to start out with in the new combination set to be empty, and save to the new combination set?

Re: Learning from the past with my speaker arragement
For Armley, I think it sounds best with my default routing, which has the Chancel and Nave manual ranks on a group of 6 stereo pairs on the wall in front to the sides of the console, on four shelves at two levels spanning 10 ft wide, Chancel and Nave pedal ranks on 2 pairs of heavier floor speakers ...

Re: Béziers Sample Set - Puget Organ for Hauptwerk
Softer than the Flute 16, slightly quinty, could be copied from the G.O. Bourdon 16 with the bass octave strengthened a bit. Caen has a good SB16, but the releases wouldn't match. It's really a convenience for registering softer music. Thanks for considering it! I think the fonds on St. Omer are ...

Re: Béziers Sample Set - Puget Organ for Hauptwerk
St. Omer really is a beautiful sampleset. I'd love to see it updated with the usual Mixer tab sliders. And a Soubasse 16 on the pedal would be a useful extension, if you were updating it anyway!

Re: CMK3 KEYBOARDS (4 manuals and pedals) help with CMKCONFIG
There are tutorials here: https://midiworks.ca/index.php/support/configuring-hardware But why would you need to reconfigure your keyboards just because you changed computers? CMKConfig should be a one time thing unless the keyboards themselves (not the PC) had a hardware failure. CMKConfig only ...

Re: Hauptwerk IX Early User Experience
A couple of things I really like about HW9. Selecting and docking the control panels one time for all organs is a time saver. Per-organ convolution reverbs on mixer buses let me delete a lot of duplicate buses and groups, for a much simpler audio setup. 26 speakers and a sub used to be a lot more ...

Re: Registration and Crescendo Question
Right, the Hauptwerk master crescendo doesn't assert the stops of its current stage against piston changes, unlike real crescendo pedals where the stage's registration persists even after a general cancel. It's just the way it works -- it only has an effect at the moment you move the pedal to ...

Re: Learning from the past with my speaker arragement
If sustain loops are out of phase between Chancel and Nave, maybe loading only single loops might clear it up, assuming the recordings are synchronized and the cause is different loops being selected on different perspectives for the same rank. It might also be beating because of different random ...

Re: Advice for CPU
Even on a more powerful CPU, you'll still have to use the polyphony limiter on the most demanding samplesets. They'll still glitch if you put the limit at 32k if the organ can push that many voices + releases. (There are some newer server CPUs that should handle that -- ones with sufficient single ...
