Re: Allen + HW and Combinations
Can't you use a different piston or stop tab to toggle the HW Setter? If you're using both combination systems, I wouldn't try having the same Set piston for both. Well, I wouldn't use both at all -- when I had a digital organ with HW, the local combination system was always causing problems.

Re: Sforzando (or tutti) on instruments that don't have one
Well, the tutti/sfz is easily done with a master reversible, the crescendo is the master crescendo when samplesets have no native cresc, but, as far as I know, there's no blind option up through HW9. I think that feature was requested a while back, so it's probably on Martin's list.

Re: Sforzando (or tutti) on instruments that don't have one
I don't know of any way to set up a blind reversible piston (blind = not showing its stop changes), unless you use the CODM to make a modified organ definition. The master crescendo works on any sampleset, but isn't blind either. (Why is a blind registration control useful? I've never understood ...

Re: Master Couplers
Since master couplers can't be used consistently "for all organs" -- because the manual numbering varies -- I use a group of six toe studs assigned to master reversibles "for all organs", and set each of them to the organ's couplers using the Setter. No repetitive MIDI autodetect that way. It's ...

Re: Easiest DIY for a home instrument
www.midiworks.ca has basic information, and their online store lays out the parts you may want to consider, wherever you end up buying them. Everything can be bought off the shelf and bolted together with a screwdriver and pliers if you go the off-the-shelf parts route. I ordered a console cabinet ...

Re: Cannot cancel Select Impulse Response Reverb
Well, I'm confused again! I thought you were nervous about the advice to reboot, but now it seems you've been rebooting the PC every time you use HW. Glad it's working anyway.

Re: Sample Sets not HW…. Can we still use them?
Mostly true, but see the Organ column in the Browse display? Right under the organ name is the software used in the recording. If it doesn't show "Hauptwerk [IV ... IX]", but some other VPO software, the sampleset may not have a HW version. It's against this Forum's rules to name other VPO software ...

Re: Cannot cancel Select Impulse Response Reverb
Antoni, every night and whenever I leave the house, I shut down the system using Hauptwerk's Shutdown button, then switch off AC power to everything after the computer turns itself off. No harm done by that, ever. Those warnings are not to turn off AC power when the computer is running. Please ...

Re: Landau stopped playing ( no audio ) other organs working fine
In Landau's Settings page (not Hauptwerk settings), make sure "Start blowers on organ load" is enabled and saved to Preset 1 on that page, or to whatever preset you use. It seems to affect the organ restart that the recorder does.

Re: Sample Sets not HW…. Can we still use them?
Hauptwerk has its own format for the organ definition file. You can't use it to play other samplesets. You could install those other unmentionable VPOs on your computer. P.S. Even most HW samplesets are made by companies other than MDA. It isn't the company that matters, just what VPO software the ...

Re: Two things about HW v.9.
The answers to the removed menu bar seem to assume a keyboard is easily reachable. A trackpad fits on my console and requires no bodily contortions, but the keyboard doesn't. Keyboard shortcuts etc. aren't of use to me, and my neurologically unsound hand can't poke the touchscreen accurately most ...

Re: Sample Rate and Polyphony. Which to use ?
One more note (hah). The attack on those chamades and every stop played from the same MIDI keyboard is affected by the keyboard's velocity settings (range and midpoint). Perhaps those are different enough between your configs to hear a difference in pipe attacks, which would be more audible on high ...

Re: Sample Rate and Polyphony. Which to use ?
Organ rank voicing and rank routing, and per-organ reverb if you use it, are all stored separately for the Main and Alt configs. So the chamades behaving differently is possibly due to a setting in one of those areas, or it could be in general settings, which also are stored separately for the 4 ...

Re: Sample Rate and Polyphony. Which to use ?
You set the sample rate (96000 or 48000) and sample buffer size (e.g. 1024 or 512) in General settings | Audio Device in HW, and also need to set the same values on your audio interface's control app and restart HW's audio engine. The polyphony limit is how many voices + releases your PC can handle ...
