Re: Proper Way to Re-Install Hauptwerk 8
Martin, thanks for your usual prompt reply. The audio configuration appears to have been sorted out by re-installing the sample set (Redeemer Skinner) and reconfiguring the audio settings for multiple speakers from scratch. We had tried resetting the settings before, but to no avail. I'm inferring ...

Proper Way to Re-Install Hauptwerk 8
I have migrated Hauptwerk 4 to Hauptwerk 8 on a Windows computer for colleauge, but have had several issues: 1) The first, which really had me tearing out my hair out was that the Presonus 1818VSL sound interface wouldn't operate with the Windows 10 compatible drivers in the Universal Control ...

Re: How to Change a Rank from 16' to 8'
Martin, thanks for your prompt response. I think the simplest solution is the use of couplers, on the assumption that the Cor Anglais will be the only stop activated for the Solo manual.

How to Change a Rank from 16' to 8'
I'm trying to help a colleague for whom I configured a Hauptwerk installation using the Salisbury Cathedral sample set. He would like the 16' Cor Anglais rank on the solo manual to be 8'. Not being at all conversant with the Custom Organ Definition process, is there a relatively painless way by ...

Re: Incorrect pedal midi note assignment
Did you by any chance remove and plug back in the connector going from the pedal board to your midi interface? The upward shift of 8 notes is symptomatic of a matrix connector having been shifted.

Transfer of Licenses to New Owner During Upgrade
I'm planning an upgrade for an organ which was gifted to a young organist. The organ has V4.2 installed on an old Macbook Pro. The Macbook OS cannot be upgraded to the level required for Hauptwerk 8, so the computer will be replaced with a Windows PC. My question relates to the logistics of doing ...

Re: Johannus Opus 1200 conversion
If you refer to page 21 of the schematics in the link you posted, the keyboards and stops are wired as an 8x8 matrix, and the pedal board as an 8 x 4. These are connectors 2 through 5. The Midi Boutique hwce2 encoder has 4 IDC16 input connectors. You would have to check with Midi Boutique to see if ...

Re: Backup Hard Drive/Computer - Haupwerk-Only Computer
I have a Windows 10 computer, and my brainless approach is to create a complete system image as follows: 1) Open Control Panel 2) Under System and Security, select the last item "Backup and Restore (Windows 7) 3) This opens a page "Backup and Restore Your Files" 4) At the top left hand corner choose ...

Re: Pedal note intermittent
The switches are wired in an 8 x 4 matrix, witih 8 wires going to JP1 and four wires going to JP4.
Try reversing JP1, i.e. remove it from the socket, rotate it 180 degrees, and plug it back in.

Re: Pedal note intermittent
I am assuming that each set of eight switches is wired into an individual harness. It appears that you have flipped each harness end over end before mounting it in position.

Re: Paramount Organ Works Recommended Audio Configuration
Thanks Iain. That's what I was looking for. As Martin points out, the later versions of Hauptwerk may preempt this, but that and the 450 document are useful in working my way through the multi-channel setup. This is for someone else's organ, which happens to have V4.2 Hauptwerk anyway.

Paramount Organ Works Recommended Audio Configuration
Some time ago I read this document on setting up a multi-channel system. I believe is was six channels, with cycling among ranks and octaves. Unfortunately I didn't save it, and it's not showing in my download file. I have Googled for the precise title of the document, and can't find it. There's no ...

Sampled Tremulant Improvement?
One of the criticisms of sampled tremulants versus synthesized is that each sampled note has a different tremulant phase relationship. The point in the tremulant cycle where the sample starts will be different for each note. As a consequence, the amplitude and pitch shift will be different. When ...

Re: Arduinos and Photo-interrupters -help!
Also keep in mind that the voltage drop across a typical diode like a 1N4001 will be at least .7 volts at low current, and about 1.1 volts at 1 amp. Given that you are already starting at a low voltage, this may also be a contributing factor.

Re: 4 wire swell potentiometer?
I did a bit of searching, and it appears that the potentiometer is actually an LDR (light dependent resistor). https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/attachment.php?s=5db715d4820f7a3db7bc702aac7fb812&attachmentid=275474&d=1679402762 If you look at the top left corner of the attachment, two wires supply ...
