I'd like to be able to autodetect Shutdown.

Hear, hear! I'd been eagerly waiting for the upgrade to surround, also figuring on €100 or so. €325? Nope. Stereo will have to suffice.

Re: Midi stops suddenly until I relaunch Hauptwerk (v8)

Thank you, Martin, for the quick reply. Had I not been working only with Baroque organs, I would have discovered that the flashing red lights were caused by an expression pedal. Once opened and closed, the flashing stopped...but restarted once before being, I hope, long-term pacified. François had ...

Midi stops suddenly until I relaunch Hauptwerk (v8)

Repeatedly, after 3 to 20 minutes of playing I suddenly have no sound. Pistons stop functioning. On exiting Hauptwerk I get this message: “Could not stop MIDI-IN port ‘Focusrite USB MIDI’. (Operating system message: Undefined external error., code: 1, hex 1.) Message code 3809.” On closing that messa ...

Hear, hear!, Dr Maier. Many of us, surely, have been patiently waiting over a year--since you first mentioned it was was on its way. And surely many of us had been hoping for a closer perspective since the day we first played it.

It looks like this was just a loose 5-pin connector. Too easy! Thanks to you both.

Midi output from console not always reaching Hauptwerk

After several years, my Hauptwerk setup (currently Hauptwerk VII on Windows 7, Focusrite 18i20), bought as a package from a dealer, began to malfunction this past week. Although on startup the usual notification appeared on my desktop that Focusrite was connected, when I launched Hauptwerk and ...

Re: Calculated checksum is correct; HW says file is corrupt.

Thank you, Martin. Indeed, the next file, part19, was missing from the folder Hauptwerk was installing from. When I first started to download the sample set a few days ago, IA’s server told me I would need to download each file individually—all 63 of them, if I count correctly. Apparently I missed on ...

or that I've run out of disk space. (I have more than 1TB remaining on the drive.) Even though the checksum was correct, I downloaded the file again. The checksum was once again correct, but I still got the log message: 2023-09-10-09-32-39: INF:1164 Extracting from F:/_Full Sample Sets/Budapest PAB ...

Re: Which manufacturer/set-id's?

I sometimes wonder whether I’ve failed to delete unused, storage-wasting caches in this or that alternate configuration, and I occasionally, in periods of excess energy, try to root them out using screen shots I’ve made of IDs in the “uninstall organ” menu to identify cache folders. I usually soon ex ...

Re: I can't get sound from the Frankfurt Sauer demo

Thanks, mnailor. It was the blower. In the past it has been a dummy, unaffected by a mouse click. This time, after it didn't respond, I clicked, by chance, on "Pedal matrix memory 1" and then clicked on "Blower" again. This second time, it lit up, and there's sound. A third click did not turn the ...

I can't get sound from the Frankfurt Sauer demo

I've successfully installed 75 organs (plus demos), but this one has me stumped. After 10 days of thinking about, I turn to the forum for help. This is my standard procedure. 1) Install the organ. 2) Load the organ (after changing all ranks from the default to 20-bit and deselecting noise "ranks ...

Sample set extension providers

I would like to have a 4' principal, based on an existing stop, added to the pedal of a non-encrypted sample set (Ermelo).

How do I find someone to do this for me? How much should I expect to pay?
Thanks.

Re: TRS to Phoenix-type 3-pin cables

Perhaps most would just get a good TRS to TRS cable and strip one end, but the amp's user guide has a "do-not-attempt-this-at-home" warning about wiring. I don't want to fry anything. I did find a TRS to stripped wire cable on eBay, https://www.ebay.com/itm/353255077773 made by Philmore. http ...
