Re: Linux OS
I'm sure Martin will chime in soon enough saying it's not officially supported. There's no Linux installer, nor has there ever been. There's been some experiments years ago with wine. Apparently iLok runs on Linux with wine. In this 2025, you might try it on Crossover rather than wine. 4.2 didn't ...

Re: SparcFun to Manufacture Teensy Boards
Yeah, it's all clock speed. If clock speed is higher, it means one loop will be faster as well, because each instruction is paired with one impulse from the CPU. Midi baud rate is generally constant at 31250 bits per second. To be honest, the chip in the slowest Arduinos is still plenty fast enough ...

Re: Touch sensitive pedalboard
No, there's not, but it's pretty darn easy to make your own: https://www.instructables.com/How-to-Make-a-Cheap-Arduino-MIDI-Controller/ You just need conductive paint, any kind of paintable surface, some wires, and an arduino. For a pedal board, you'd need to play with bare feet, mind. Not my thing ...

Re: SparcFun to Manufacture Teensy Boards
The biggest pro for me in favour of Teensy is the USB midi. Problem is, it doesn't have as many pins as the arduino mega. Leonardo has USB midi, but not that many pins. If teensy made a board with 64 inputs, it would be a game changer, same as is Arduino made a Mega that could do USB midi. For some ...

Re: Need MIDI help converting AS keyboards
Yeah, you're right. The four different ways are for the other breakout boards, which I used. Hmm. Are you sure the Pwr T and 9-12V AC/DC are wired up correctly? The other thing to do is make sure the multiplexer board is grounded correctly. Ideally, you would ground the key, the board, and the HWCE2 ...

Re: Need MIDI help converting AS keyboards
One possibility is that the contacts are phosphor bronze or nickel. They don't make contact reliably at anything under 12v. I thought the HWCE2 had the option to run at 12v though. Do you know what the voltage is? You might have to wire it differently to make use of that option. If the contacts are ...

Re: Easiest DIY for a home instrument
If your Allen has midi, cut out the wood on the console to fit the bigger pedalboard. It's not pretty, but it works and has been done many times. Allens are built well. You're not going to find an easier to convert console than the Allen, and it already has midi. Buying replacement keyboards will ...

Re: Sample Sets not HW…. Can we still use them?
If you can get the .wav files of any organ, it can be turned into a Hauptwerk sample set using the CODM, but it's a lot of work. There's some other virtual organ software that's available, but generally if the .wav files are available, it's already been turned into a Hauptwerk organ by someone or ...

Re: Older Classic MIDIWorks pedalboard
I think you're doing the right thing. When the new power supply comes, plug it in and try it. You shouldn't have to change the channel, the one it's on should probably be fine. If it doesn't work let us know.

Re: “EQ” when using speakers
On most organs, the pipes should get quieter as you go up the rank, otherwise it can get a bit painful. But it can be too much, maybe that's what you're talking about. MNailor is right when saying the sound system has a lot to do with it. It can also do with the room, some spaces decrease certain ...

Re: Béziers Sample Set - Puget Organ for Hauptwerk
I've always liked St. Omer, but only recently bought it. Aside from Franck, for which it's probably the best available, it's also great for French baroque material. A softer 16 foot, like a soubasse, would indeed be useful for when you want it to be more romantic. It has really nice reverberation ...

Re: CMK3 KEYBOARDS (4 manuals and pedals) help with CMKCONFIG
I'm not familiar with it, but is there a way to set the channels using just the keyboards? That's usually all you have to do. I'm guessing Hauptwerk has everything set up, and you don't want to have to autodetect and set everything up again. But it should be relatively straight forward.

Re: Béziers Sample Set - Puget Organ for Hauptwerk
A very interesting organ. I'd say it's decidedly brighter than most other French Romantic organs, but it still sounds Romantic when it wants to. It has some very interesting stops, like the keraulophone and the clarinette, and two strings on the GO! So a very tempting one. Congratulations on a good ...

Re: Advice for CPU
You are right. 20 ms seems to be the threshold at which under that, you won't notice an improvement, so there's no point trying to get under. It's true some real organs have significant latency, but no one likes it! It's the 9:30 in Newfoundland problem (for those fellow Canadians out there), the ...
