Re: Master General Piston Sequencer
You need to assign the extra piston to Input 2 (or other inputs) on the Adjust MIDI settings screen for the Stepper +1 button. If you keep assigning to its Primary Input, you're just replacing one toe stud or piston with another, overwriting the previous assignment. There are even additional ...

Re: Master General Piston Sequencer
In that chapter, on page 120 for the version 8 user guide, this section is a good approach to get going easily, along with assigning Stepper +1 and -1 to pistons or toe studs: Thanks for the great information. I was able to set up the pistons to the x00 to x27 and able to get the toe studs to the ...

Master General Piston Sequencer
I know that HW does not have this capability from reading the manual and seeing other posts. I have a visiting recitalist coming in about a month who is used to this feature. I am thinking the only work around might be to set the Master General Pistons (I have 1-28 on the four manuals) and make the ...

Sound suddenly Drops
Not sure if this is a MIDI problem or a software issue. Recently organist playing the HW console at church have reported that while playing the sound just stops. Quitting and just relaunching HW allows it to play again. It was very random, but the supply organist this past week said it happened 3 ...

Re: Pedal note intermittent
The switches are wired in an 8 x 4 matrix, witih 8 wires going to JP1 and four wires going to JP4. Try reversing JP1, i.e. remove it from the socket, rotate it 180 degrees, and plug it back in . BINGO It works perfectly. The wires were coming down, so assumed that was the way to plug it in. I don't ...

Re: Pedal note intermittent
I am assuming that each set of eight switches is wired into an individual harness. It appears that you have flipped each harness end over end before mounting it in position. You assumed wrong, it is a SINGLE harness with the wires zip tied in between each. Once you start with the first they are all ...

Re: Pedal note intermittent
UPDATE I decided to take the plunge and replace all the read switches from soldered to the newer plug reed switch offered by Classic Midi Works, since that who made this board. I talked to Attila and he sent an entire harness set, that just needed to be swapped out and plugged into the circuit board ...

Re: Pedal note intermittent
SPOKE TOO SOON! After working great for about a day, all of a sudden the E2 would switch on and stay on without being depressed. I readjusted the reed switch down as far as it would go and tested it prior to putting the back on. Played it successfully for an hour or so, and about 12 hours later ...

Re: Pedal note intermittent
Could you tell me more about plug in magnetic reed switches? My pedalboard is also old, and the connections are in need of some TLC. I would love a simpler solution if it existed. When I was looking for replacement parts through Classic Midi Works I ran across them. https://us.midiworks.ca/index ...

Re: Pedal note intermittent
UPDATE: It was in fact the the reed switch going bad. I did have a spare in the back that came with it, a friend suggested liquid solder, so I picked some up and voila, E2 is now functioning again. It is an old pedal board, I am going to possibly look at upgrading them all with the plug-in magnetic ...

Re: Pedal note intermittent
Unless I'm misunderstanding your setup, why not just replace the reed switch? Because I cannot solder. Have you tried rotating the reed a bit? They need to be at a specific angle in relation to the magnet to respond correctly. I have tried rotating and shift up, etc. I have it to where goes right ...

Re: Pedal note intermittent
My recollection is that the descending pedal passes a magnet, the position of which is adjustable. Having you tried moving the magnet a wee bit in one direction or another? I didn't, but after your post I did play around with it and got it to where it was working like the others, it would sound at ...

Re: Pedal note intermittent
So I went to the troubleshooting guide for the pedal board. It says if one or more of the keys do not produce a MIDI sound and the others are fine. Check the connectors on the JP1 and JP4 of the MKSC-4A Circuit board. Did that they are fine. Maybe loose or damaged wires. Everything was tight etc ...

Pedal note intermittent
I have a note (E2) in the pedal that started acting up yesterday. when not used for a bit or starting up, you press and hold down and nothing plays. If you do this several times, it plays after a delay, if you repeat playing the pedal it will work to where it plays when you strike it. Don't play ...

Re: Notes Drop after starting to play
Martin, I was thinking that might be a possibility, and wanted to confirm. The company that built the console is coming tomorrow to address some midi component issues. If it occurs after we get the other stuff fixed, I will do as you say with St. Anne's. Thanks as always for being prompt and on ...
