Re: Arduinos and Photo-interrupters -help!
I am most curious about how one would scan a matrix of photo-interrupters. How does one activate one row at a time as the columns are scanned? Personally I have decided to totally dispense with matrices and diodes. When I give advice to those building their own VPO, using parallel wiring prevents a ...

Re: MIdifying an Allen pedalboard
I've wired up Allen keyboard stacks and the matrices in some cases are just plain weird. With the help of a circuit diagram they can be deciphered and I was able to write custom code to accommodate them. (The diodes are backwards compared to the pattern I like to use and bottom C, instead of top C ...

Re: 4 wire swell potentiometer?
When MIDifying a Galanti some years ago, I retained the LDR based swell pedal by adding a pullup resistor as shown in the bottom picture: https://sites.google.com/site/casavantopus400/pictures But the resulting small voltage range (Voltage readings 2.06 volts (closed) to 3.79 (open) ) required code ...

Re: Reconsider HW business model????
Thank you Martin for taking the time to write such a thoughtful response. Of course things aren't as simple as a HW user like me would like. But all efforts to simplify the HW environment would be appreciated.

Reconsider HW business model????
A lively discussion has ensued on the Organ Forum concerning users who are unhappy with HW's business model. https://organforum.com/forums/forum/organ-building-repair-restoration/virtual-organs/813955-hauptwerk-has-it-gone-too-far Here is my contribution to the discussion which someone suggested ...

Organ Forum not secure
When I try to access the Organ Forum, Google tells me the site is not secure and that its certification date is invalid.
I assume this is related to the latest changes in the Forum. Does anyone else experience this?

Re: Controlling SAMS Help Needed
I well recall the summer during the 1980s I spent wiring up the console for a large theatre organ (256 SAMs). We decided to use a deep cycle marine battery with a trickle charger to power the SAMs, with power to spare. It also had the benefit of keeping the volatile combination action memory powered ...

Re: Echoing Stop Input
Well, I feel stupid!
It turns out the MIDI out on my M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496 was not enabled. Duh.
Thanks to all who took time to offer advice.

Re: Echoing Stop Input
Thanks Larason for your quick response. I'm aware of the possibility of HW and the Arduino fighting each other but you are way ahead of me. At the moment the Arduino is in control and my aim is to put HW in control. The Arduino is all ready to receive input via a MIDI shield but I have yet to ...

Echoing Stop Input
VPO running HW 4, with lighted stop panel controlled by pushbuttons. An Arduino scans and toggles the lights when a button is pushed. Arduino sends Note ON/OFF messages to HW and thereby operates the virtual stops. This all works. Can't figure out how to get these messages to reflect back to the ...

Re: Alternatives to Leonardo for MIDI over USB?
If you would like some more examples: Here's an example of the Arduino code for scanning a pedal board wired in a 4x8 matrix. https://sites.google.com/site/casavantopus400/a-simple-vpo And if you don't want to bother with a matrix, here's the code for parallel scanning a 61 note keyboard. https ...

Re: engrssc - Ed Nupnau
Thanks for posting this. Ed and I were collaborating on some Arduino applications and I too was beginning to wonder why he was no longer responding to my emails. This confirms my fears. The way Ed wrote about caring for his wife for so many years made me realize what a good man he was. He will be ...

Not a Touch Screnn
For those, who like me have been casting about for a simple way of implementing a "stop jamb," my post on the Organ Forum under Virtual Organs > Not a Touch screen may be of interest to you. It has been well received and would make a good project for those interested in trying out an Arduino as part ...

Re: M-Audio card not recognized
Wow! Thanks for the prompt support and setting me on the right track.
Turns out the CD with the drivers that came with the M-Audio card was for Windows 94/98 only.
My bad.
By directing me to the M-Audio website and the correct driver for XP with SP2, I'm now up and running again.

M-Audio card not recognized
Twenty year old PC died. Replaced motherboard. All files lost. Reinstalled windows XP Reinstalled HW version 4 Reinstalled M-Audio Audiophile 2496 driver. Problem: HW does not "see" the M-Audio card. Can put MIDI console output stream through Roland UM ONE MIDI to USB interface and HW sees that and ...
