Re: Drawstops and pistons -- where to start?

Thank you very much for the responses. I hadn't really realised what I was dealing with here, so I'm very glad I started this thread. There are multiple power points at the back of the instrument and I assume one of them is for the stop mechanism, so I think I'll turn that off before I do much more ...

Drawstops and pistons -- where to start?

Hi all, and Happy New Year to you. This might be a long post for what is at heart a simple query, but I'm trying to figure out how I can get my console to do what I want it to do, based on very little knowledge or experience. Please bear with me! Background: A couple of years ago, I bought a very ...

Re: My new (first) console

Well, I probably shouldn't have shown this to my wife! If it wasn't for Brexit, I suspect I'd be looking at a Forest Organs order to Ireland in the new year... :D

Best of luck with it, OP. I wish you many happy hours on that organ bench.

Hauptwerk and trick or treaters

Bückeburg was the sample set I decided to go with this evening as I played the BWV565 Toccata over and over and over again to entertain the trick or treaters. Many didn't notice, but those who looked through the window seemed pretty astonished to discover a man in a pumpkin suit actually playing an ...

"That said, it's pretty strange that Eurozone and Euro currency aren't listed in the menu, despite the multitude of other options. Let's hope that isn't a sign" Don't worry, there are options to use PayPal and other payment methods which solve this issue. Ivan I was concerned it was a sign of post ...

Re: St David's Cathedral coming....

Looks interesting. I've been looking for a classic English cathedral organ, and while I don't know this one all that well, the stop list looks pretty much perfect. I'll await the demos in due course. That said, it's pretty strange that Eurozone and Euro currency aren't listed in the menu, despite ...

Re: St Ouen, Rouen and Récit/Positif coupler

That's fascinating, thank you. So for all the French romantic music with the classic PR in one hand (melody, say) vs R in the other (accompaniment), the player will have to find an alternative. I can't believe I'm only discovering this now!

St Ouen, Rouen and Récit/Positif coupler

I was looking at the spec for Sam Sleath's Rouen composite, and it reads like the positif couples to the récit rather than the other way around. I now see it's labelled in the same way on the real instrument. Does this reflect an actual coupling quirk on this instrument, or does the récit couple to t ...

Re: No sound

Here's a potentially stupid question, and apologies if so, but do you have to manually turn the blower on for this virtual instrument? I don't know it myself, but a screenshot I saw online suggests this might be a possibility.

Re: Pinerolo - new sample set

I love the sound of this set, and the spec seems ideal. I think it's time I bought a new sample set.

Re: Pedal note intermittent

I'm delighted to hear you got it working again!

Could you tell me more about plug in magnetic reed switches? My pedalboard is also old, and the connections are in need of some TLC. I would love a simpler solution if it existed.

Re: Pedal note intermittent

Unless I'm misunderstanding your setup, why not just replace the reed switch? As noted above, that's what worked for me given the exact same circumstances (i.e. once I got the note working by repeated presses, it would generally then work for the rest of that practice session, but next time I'd be ...
