Update: while typing and sending my previous post, I received a very prompt response from François at HW support. He identified the likely cause and provided me with a probable solution.
I will report back in due course once I have an opportunity to return to my computer hopefully later today.

Re: Not loading the tremulant ranks (Buckeburg)?
Hi Mark and Martin, thank you for your comments. Yesterday's failed attempt to load the organ in 24-bit generated a diagnostic file, which I have now sent to support at Hw dot com. I've had a look at the HW log file for yesterday but was not able to see any clear statement of what went wrong. Before ...

Not loading the tremulant ranks (Buckeburg)?
After having used HW for some time I’ve just now woken up to the fact I’ve not been loading all the ranks of an organ in 24 bit. When first installing a new organ, I’d always changed the default 16bit to 24 bit and had assumed this would cover the entire organ. I’ve now realized that it only affecte ...

Re: Modern playing aids
I agree with others who have said this is not cheating. I also play solely for my own enjoyment. In some ways one can perhaps compare the use of the assorted couplers in Hauptwerk with other devices and tools that are available these days for people with physical limitations. I use forearm crutches ...

Re: Buckeburg voicing / can't voice question
Hello Tompion, use the "Ctrl" key on the keyboard Lest there be any confusion, Danny's referring to holding down the Ctrl key on the computer keyboard (as opposed to pressing anything on a MIDI keyboard) whilst clicking on multiple ranks in the rank list on the voicing screen, so as to 'multi ...

Re: Buckeburg voicing / can't voice question
After a bit of hunting on the internet, I found two descriptions of the stop list for the actual physical organ. The only rank that was listed as an extension is the 32 foot pedal stop. So that's presumably the only rank in the sample set that is an extension of another stop. I have a question about ...

Re: Modern playing aids
It most definitely is not cheating. Or if is, I'm doing something similar myself. I recently came across a prelude (and fugue) by Bohm. It begins with a virtuosic lengthy pedal solo. Even in my younger years I'd never have been able to play it (partly because of polio issues). But now with the bass ...

Re: Reverb for One Organ
Many thanks to all three of you who responded to my question. At the present time, I have only one dry sample set so I'll use option #2. I've installed it and using a second mixer bus does exactly what I was hoping for. I'm going to print this thread and keep it for future reference in the even that ...

Reverb for One Organ
I'm hoping this is a simple question to which someone will be able to provide an answer. Most of my sample sets have significant reverberation from the church acoustic. However, I recently acquired an interesting and enjoyable, but dry, new sample set: https://hauptwerk-augustine.info/Norrfjarden ...

Re: Floating division toggle routes 1/2
Just want to say how much I appreciate this new feature. My left hand is partly disabled, so I often take the left hand bass line with the pedals to get around it. The route toggle lets me press one toe stud to switch the pedalboard between the Pedal and Great division when needed, instead of ...

Re: Bug in HW8: Free RAM misreported [edit: not a bug]
If I read the discussion correctly, there are benefits to loading sample sets uncompressed, rather than using "lossless" compression.
Is that correct? And correct for both HW 7 and HW 8?

Re: HW 8 is Splendid
. ... There is one anomaly I am experiencing however. The second A note for some reason is louder on the Doesburg sample set and the Paramount 341 sample set (perhaps others), so I have to make volume adjustments for every stop on those organs. I have one sample set that doesn't have that issue ...

Thank you for your help. Configuring the keyboards and swell pedal went smoothly: I can now play the organ.mnailor wrote:Under the Organ settings menu, there are Keyboards and Expression pedal items. In Keyboards, select a manual. Over on the right side top, poke the Autodetect button.

Re: Salisbury vol. 1 Installation
Success! Martin, I downloaded the checksum utility that you mentioned. The resulting checksum for the first of the files I downloaded yesterday did not agree with the one in your post nor did the size of the files I'd download. I then download the three volume 1 files from the link that you provided ...

Re: Salisbury vol. 1 Installation
Martin, thank you for your replies to both my Salisbury posts. I won't be able to spend time at my computer until a bit later.
I know what checksums are but will need to find out how to find the checksums on the downloaded rar files.
