Re: SparcFun to Manufacture Teensy Boards

You mean the USBMIDI library which seems to be better if you want to take an existing 5-pin MIDI code and make it a USBMIDI-code. Arduino has its own similar library called MIDIUSB, it was being developed relatively at the same time as USBMIDI. The biggest difference is that the MIDIUSB library ...

Re: SparcFun to Manufacture Teensy Boards

Ok, thanks for your answers. Midi baud rate is generally constant at 31250 bits per second. Maybe over 5-pin but not with the MIDIUSB lib. There I'm using a baud rate of 115200. The important speed advantage with the Teensy is the mature USB-MIDI capability. USB-MIDI can sustain throughputs about ...

Re: SparcFun to Manufacture Teensy Boards

Can you specify what you mean with the higher MIDI-speed of the Teensy in comparison to e.g. the Due? Clock speed of the board (600 MHz vs. 84MHz), or time spent for one loop, or baud rate, or something else?

Re: SparcFun to Manufacture Teensy Boards

I'm using Arduino Due with USB MIDI without any problems for sending MIDI. The 5-pin MIDI-jack I use only for receiving MIDI and control LEDs with that (but here with a Mega due to the 5V-level of MIDI). When I developed my solution I didn't find a way for receiving MIDI via USB but now I know that ...

Re: SparcFun to Manufacture Teensy Boards

I'm using an Arduino Due to scan several keyboards and pedalboard. I'm fine with it and it's performance (I can't hear any latency).

What is the advantage of a Teensy 4.1 to an Arduino Due in this use case?
