Re: Hauptwerk IX Early User Experience
Hello Einer,
Thanks for the continued interest in v9.
You can most certainly still use a mouse, and/or keyboard shortcuts, and/or MIDI pistons. There's no need to use a touch-screen. (I don't use one myself.)

Re: ERROR: could not allocate memory
Hello again Jerry, If I recall correctly: if (within the sample set) you save all of the samples in those particular 'ranks' in 16-bit, then Hauptwerk would always load those 'ranks' them in 16-bit anyway. (The options to load a rank in 24-bit/20-bit are only available to the user if the rank has at ...

Re: ERROR: could not allocate memory
Thanks, Jerry. You're very welcome. Hope it helps. "Could not allocate #.1f MB of memory because it's larger than the memory pool segment size of 2048 MB" "Message code (for diagnostic purposes) 0839" There's actually a typo in that error message text, in that it should state the specific amount of ...

Re: ERROR: could not allocate memory
Unfortunately there is no way as a developer to "force" these samples to load in 16 bit only, so we have placed notes at various points. Hello Jerry, If I recall correctly: if (within the sample set) you save all of the samples in those particular 'ranks' in 16-bit, then Hauptwerk would always load ...

Re: Hauptwerk v9 and macOS Sequoia
Thanks, Gerard. I don't use power saving features. If you haven't already, please do first make sure that macOS 'App Nap' is disabled, for good measure: https://osxdaily.com/2014/05/13/disable-app-nap-mac-os-x/ Although Hauptwerk requests to macOS that it shouldn't be put into a power-saving state ...

Re: Hauptwerk v9 and macOS Sequoia
P.S. There's a big storm here today, and I've been without power for most of the day, with a risk of more power cuts. Also, two pieces of my computer hardware have already been fried today by voltage fluctuations, so I think I'll shut everything else down again for safety, and try to get things ...

Re: Hauptwerk v9 and macOS Sequoia
Hello Gérard, [Topic moved here.] First of all, thanks very much for upgrading to v9. Various people have tested macOS 15 ('Sequoia') with Hauptwerk v8 and v9 over the past few months, and none have found any compatibility problems with it yet. Do you mean that you have the problem with just one ...

Re: Restore all settings for a single organ sample set
Hello Kenneth, For some reason, Hauptwerk (v8) started to re-install an existing organ sample set that was already installed and configured - I played that same organ this morning and it was fine. That has never happened to me before. I noticed within seconds, but the damage was done, and it seems ...

Re: Convolution reverb Vs Surround ranks
Thanks, Danny. Having all the ranks mix down to a single type of reverb in the surround speakers (HW5 -HW8) the rank response is treated equally. Just to clarify, there's no difference between v8 and v9 in that regard (except that it's much easier to apply different reverbs to different organs in v9 ...

Re: Convolution reverb Vs Surround ranks
Hello Danny, I would say that the two main compromises potentially involved in applying reverb to release-truncated samples are: 1. Truncating release samples can't remove the real reverb from the attack/sustain portion of the samples, so for those portions you would effectively be applying ...
