Re: Took a hiatus but back now and looking to upgrade
Yes, you can upgrade directly from V4 to V6. The price for an upgrade from V4.or earlier to V6 perpetual is $299, and the link is here: https://www.hauptwerk.com/upgrade-advanced-v4-to-advanced-v6-perpetual/ That is a saving of $300 versus the regular price of $599. I would advise getting an iLok ...

As a follow-up, I see that Blue Aran has many brand-specific kits as well, and they are situated in the UK.

Re: Subwoofer driver failure
I had very good success putting new foam surrounds on four Rodgers 12" woofers. Speakersworks.com on their web site shows you how to measure the surround dimensions accurately. You need to measure the inside and outside diameter of the surround, and the outside diameter of the speaker cone. I found ...

Re: Laptop
If your intention is to use your existing SSD with Win7 as the boot drive in your new computer, it is not a trivial process. Windows will recognize that the hardware environment has changed, and set about installing new drivers. It may also require you to re-authorize Windows. This link provides ...

Re: Suggestions for IR reverb options for theatre organ
Like most recipes that say "add salt to taste", the reverb settings are very much a case of personal preference. The first question is to decide what kind of real-world theatre organ environment you would like to replicate. I prefer the George Wright "Pasadena sound" which was quite live with a ...

Re: Thanksgiving Sale - Melotone Sound Productions VTPOs
I have the Wonder Mortons (wet and dry), the Redford Barton, and the Albee Wurlitzer (Opus 1680, both wet and dry). I also have the Paramount 341 and the Masterworks Wurlitzer 3/31. In my opinion, the Opus 1680 sets a new standard for theatre organ sample sets.. The individual notes on all ranks are ...

Re: Rodgers 330E pedal contact lining up help
I have a Rogers 333 Olympic which likely has the same pedalboard arrangement. I think your problem is that the pedalboard is slightly misaligned, and therefore the magnets at one end or the other are not close enough to cause the reed switches to operate. Try lifting the pedalboard off the retaining ...

Re: Suggestions for a new motherboard
The 24 GB memory limit may have been a function of the maximum possible memory size per stick when you purchased your computer. In my case, I have a Dell XPS 9100 which was specified as having a 24 GB limit. It has six memory slots, and at the time came equipped with six 2 GB sticks for a total of ...

Re: Expression pedals to MIDI
The Midi Hardware encoder is designed to connect directly to potentiometers. It senses the voltage at the potentiometer wiper and converts it to the CC value. The Behringer expression pedal appears to vary the analog audio level of an input signal, so it won't work at all with the encoder. The M ...

Re: Paramount updates
I think any updates are very unlikely as they appear to have ceased any further development, other than migrating the sample sets to V5. The Albee Wurlitzer (Opus 1680) sample set development was taken over by Melotone Sound Productions. You may want to check it out, as I think it is excellent. What ...

Re: Replacement Potentiometer
Depending on the midi encoder the value of the potentiometer should be between 5000 ohms and 10000 ohms, linear taper. DTS encoders use 5000 ohms, Classic midi encoders use 5000 ohms. Either will likely work okay. There are thousands of options out there, and you can do a search on suppliers like ...

Re: Expression pedal varying wildly on midi playback
You can also try playing the demo midi file that comes with the Paramount 341 and see how that reacts. I agree with Martin that your symptoms are indicative of a noisy potentiometer. If they are the older style you may be able to shoot contact cleaner in, but otherwise they should be replaced. The ...

Re: Viscount Chorum and Dell laptop sound
A simple test for whether you have a ground loop problem is to disconnect the AC power supply from your laptop and just operate on the battery. I had this problem interfacing to the auxiliary audio inputs of a Phoenix organ. There are in fact good quality isolation transformers. The Applied Research ...
