toulouse-les-orgues

PostMon Sep 27, 2021 8:01 pm

Hello all.

Is anyone here going to the festival Toulouse-les-orgues this year (October 5-17) ? Or are you a Hauptwerker living in Toulouse? I am going to the festival and would love to link up with some of you while I'm there.

You can message me here or at robsig [at] videotron.ca.

By the way there will be a few concerts featuring a strange hybrid organ called the Gulliver which incorporates real pipes and computer technology. Among the concerts will be one with l'Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse, so it's a serious undertaking.

À suivre …

The links to the Gulliver organ are:

https://toulouse-les-orgues.org/eveneme ... s-fatales/

https://toulouse-les-orgues.org/eveneme ... piazzolla/ with Thierry Escaich.

I couldn't find any more information about the instrument; I will know more after the concerts.

The specification of the Gulliver Organ can be found at https://beauperin.fr/Gulliver%20orgue.pdf and details in English at https://beauperin.fr/en/, just open the site menu. The organ a transportable 11 rank (pipe) extension instrument with a four manual console. it uses a computer based control system (relay). The schedule for performances shows the instrument moving quite frequently. There are some pictures.

..."Femmes fatales"... : quite à programm !!.. :)
As for the organ, its concept looks , at first signt, a bit like Gonzalez's " Baby units" .
