Let us take a moment to thank Martin Dyde for concieving the idea of Hauptwerk a few years ago and for his grit and determination to make it the King of the Virtual Instruments. This concert is the culmination of collaboration between Renatus and Richard McVeigh to bring to life a MIDI-console that, to the performer, feels like sitting at the console of York Minster. The innovation of interchangeable stop-heads to keep all of the electronics hidden is a delight.
Mr. Baker commented that he often will spend a day at a new console, sleep on it, and then perform the next day. In the case of the BiS console he drove over to Richard's, registered, performed and recorded all same day! Remarkable.
What an exciting time to be an organist.
Endless gratitude to Martin Dyde, the MDA team, and our dedicated sampleset producers who have worked tirelessly to make amazing organ music and organs available to EVERYONE!
