Good afternoon all!

May I quickly mention that., for those who have expressed an interest in my Electronic Stop Labelling project, there is a new post in the For Sale/Wanted section of the forum.

I encountered stop labeling ( or should I say stop relabeling) when I was repurposing an old Rodgers 770 that had 66 tilt tab speaking stops and 22 rocker tab couplers. I remember seeing a video from Artisan Organs where they added thin strips to the tops of the original tilt tabs. I was pleasantly surprised to find that these thin strip stop overlays were an exact fit and it was hard to tell that an overlay was applied. The strips were available in any font or any color. The stop name could have been in black or red.

Since I had two sample sets installed that I used most of the time, I had two complete specifications made. One was for the Zwolle and the other, the Caen. It was recommended that I just use contact cement to fix the strips to the original tilt tab. That way, if I preferred to use a separate sample set, I could easily peel off and replace the stop overlays.

Thanks, Antoni ...

... I used an arrangement similar to yours in my first development of my OPUS II organ:

That was in the 2019 version - I too used printed strips for the stop names. But of course, the strips have to be changed every time a different organ is selected, so the Electronic Labelling is so much more convenient:

But it does take time to set up labels for a large instrument, as the means of entering the text data doesn't afford any shortcuts.

Best wishes,

Ken
