Should I upgrade from V to VII??

I will - if the mixer is somewhat easier to get your head round..

Thanks very much for the interest in upgrading. Audio is routed in the same way in v7 as v5 (except that there are now 128 mixer presets, and you can switch between the in real-time), but there are several enhancements that make the mixer and routing screens easier and quicker to use and visualise. The v7 release notice covers them in depth:

I think you would find that they do help significantly.

Thanks Martin. I recon I'll take the plunge and go for the upgrade - just to have done it.

Is the VST-plugin the same? - or have you done anything with it - I believe Steinberg is soon to quit VST2 and will only support VST3? (I never got my version V ranks routed to the desired channels in Cubase. Truth is however - I never spent very much time on it, and I have yet to find another HW-user who's using HW with Cubase the way I do... it worked nicely with version 4 tho' ).

My system is still my trusty DIY quad core Intel i7-PC, with 64-bit Win7 Pro.

Yes -- the VST plug-in is still the same at the moment. (We do hope to make a VST3 version of it in the medium-term.)
