Grieg Funeral March

PostThu Feb 16, 2023 10:56 pm

I play many instruments in addition to the organ. I played trumpet last weekend at a wind orchestra concert at Caltech. One of the pieces we played was Edvard Grieg's Funeral March in Memory of Richard Nordraak. I had never heard this pice before and I really liked it. After doing a quick search for a free organ transcription, and finding none, I decided to transcribe it myself.

As with most of my organ music, I am making this transcription available for free to organ community. You can find it on my web site at

http://www.nightbloomingjazzmen.com/Les_Sheet_Music.html

I also made a recording of this using my custom-modified samples from FCCLA. The recording can be found on the same page as above.

Unlike much of my music, this one is not very difficult and VERY slow. It works very well for the organ.

Have fun with this!

Les
