The version of Hauptwerk that's available for download via the 'Download' menu at the top of the main Hauptwerk website (https://www.hauptwerk.com/) has now been updated to v8.0.1.

As covered in the release notice (https://www.hauptwerk.com/documentation/), the only changes in v8.0.1 above v8.0.0 are:

- Bug-fix: in v8.0.0 error 87 was possible when loading organs if using a Lite Edition v8 Perpetual license.
- Compatibility: a work-around has been added to retain compatibility with images in sample sets that have the wrong file extensions for their formats.

If you already have v8.0.0 installed, it's only necessary to update to v8.0.1 if you are using a Lite Edition perpetual licence. (The makers of the two sample sets that had that latter problem have since issued fixes to those sample sets anyway.)

These are the exact sizes and checksums of the files:

Windows:
InstallHauptwerk_v8.0.1.002.exe
Size: 3,208,869,568 bytes
MD5 checksum: e4deafa8ddc87d35f50c78b1e1601f25

macOS:
InstallHauptwerk_v8.0.1.002.zip
Size: 3,377,619,129 bytes
MD5 checksum: 779656aad4e1996b58914d2fb4236358

This is how to check the exact size of a downloaded file if needed:
- On Windows: right-click on the file and select "Properties". (Ignore its "Size on disk", which may vary and isn't the file's true size.)
- On macOS: right-click on the file and select "Get Info". (Likewise, ignore its "Size on disk".)
... and how to check the MD5 checksum of a file:
- On Windows: you can use a freeware utility, such as this one: https://www.winmd5.com/
- On macOS: https://osxdaily.com/2009/10/13/check-m ... -your-mac/
