Availability of tag to get samplesets sets in tune?

In our country a new sampleset is published bij Anton Heger. This composit surround set consists of 4 different demo sets of Sonus paradisi. The base is the Rotterdam mini set of Anton; Three additional sets are included: Zwolle demo, St Maximim demo and Freiberg demo.

Both Rotterdam and Zwolle sets are equal. St. Maximim has his own temperament file and Freiberg has a modified meantone temperament (Neidhardt)

The problem in the composit set is that we cannot get St. Maximim and Freiberg in tune with the 2 other sets. And yes, we can voice the stops of St. Maximim and Freiberg (a lot of work because there is a front and rear sample pro key/pro stop).

Until now we cannot find a tag in the HauptwerkCustomOrganDesignModuleUserGuide V4.0.pdf manual. Is there a tag that we can use in the ODF/CODM, to get the two sets in tune with the 2 equal sets without voicing.

Or is there another way to solve this problem.

I could not test this, since my organ console is not working at the moment. But if you use a definitive temperament in hauptwerk an not the original temperament of the organ, Hauptwerk should use the pitch information in the samples to retune the pipes to the selected temperament. This should also work with samples from different sets, since the information is on sample basis and not stop or organ.

Best regards - Martin

This depends on if the samples have their pitch detected and embedded within them or not or if the CODM file presumes they are tuned to concert pitch (A=440). I am not sure if all instruments of Sonus Paradisi use embedded pitch in the samples or not, however you would need to contact Jiri to be sure what the difference is between the instruments you mentioned. If the pitch is embedded then Hauptwerk will be able to re-pitch them all the same when you choose any temperament other than original organ tuning.

The CODM settings applicable to pitch are in the Rank table:

(If samples are tuned to equal temperament)

Code: Select all
<Samples_RankBasePitch64ftHarmNumIfAssumedTunedToConcertPitch>0</Samples_RankBasePitch64ftHarmNumIfAssumedTunedToConcertPitch>

and

(If samples are kept at their original tuning and pitch data is embedded)

Code: Select all
<Pitch_RankBaseOutputPitch64ftHarmonicNum>8</Pitch_RankBaseOutputPitch64ftHarmonicNum>

@Martin,
We have the same thoughts, but for this composit organ it doesn't work.

@Brett,
thanks for this detail information. We will ask Jiri and after that we can continue with you info of the 2 tags.
